it was a coupon we got in the mail.
there were a few sobeys bonus offers in there.
one said you would get 40 bonus airmiles if you purchased 100 dollars or more in sobeys gift cards.
we have 2 50 dollar airmiles vouchers for sobeys - so i was thinking why not get the gift cards, and hopefully get 40 more airmiles.
the coupon doesn't say a certain way the gift card must be purchased - so technically - it should work.
I got the same coupon. I'm not sure, you'll have to let us know on that one! Because you're just transferring one currency, the Sobey's gift certificates, to another currency, the Sobey's gift card. Either way you have to spend the currency at Sobey's. With their $100 deal, they are insuring you are spending your $100 at their store only (and not schleping across the road to the next deal @ SS, like I would be with cash. LOL).

i can tell you that there is no prob to use your sobeys am vouchers to buy gift cards....in fact it was a cashier who suggested i do this. i had cashed in all my airmiles before the redemption levels increased in march. i flipped all my certificates into sobeys and swiss chalet gift cards. i don't know about the bonus airmiles, but have a hunch it might work. good luck

I love it when they give airmiles or sell the $100 GC's for $95. I'm going to spend the money anyway, why not save a bit while I am doing it. I don't know if anyone has kids old enough for University, but I will tell you I saved a fortune using airmiles to get Chapters GC's and buying text books that way. It's funny since I graduated last May I don't know what to do with my Airmiles anymore. I think I may save them for a toaster :)
I love those sales too! Or when you get the 10c off for gas when you buy gift cards... we usually get a few cards and save more on gas!! :)
I work at a Sobeys and you can purchase anything except lotto and tobacco products with your airmiles certificates.Or yoou can purchase Sobeys gift cards with them and them buy thyem.Hope that helps!Quote:
