I'm sorry you had to go through that!
This kind of stuff drives me crazy! Do people have nothing better to do than hang out in the parking lot all day guarding the disabled parking spots? I've never even noticed anyone using them improperly. I guess that's because I'm there to shop, not to check up on who deserves to park where. There are much better ways to advocate for people with disabilities than yelling at complete strangers in the parking lot!

So sorry Holly. I hope you don`t let this stop you from going out when it is nice and your body is willing and able. We are trapped inside our bodies enough that anytime we can get some enjoyment we need to take it. I to believe in karma and he will get his. Best wishes.

And for the second part, I have to say, I'm one of those mothers who has kids running around the store, I don't think it right, or it's ok, I just dont have a way to stop them.

Just a bit of an update, the manager called my dd last night (I guess she left her name and number with him) and told her that they had this guy on tape. It seems he was, or they suspect he was on drugs as they have had trouble with this person before, only inside the store. Apparently there is a trespass order inplace with him not to be on the Safeway property. The manager told my daughter that the police will be in contact with her. In speaking with my dd this morning, I was saying that I couldn't really see that pressing charges against this guy would help anything. It's clear that this fellow needs help, whether it be a treatment program or a stay at a hospital to be evaluated, but I don't see how spending a night or two in jail will fix anything. She disagrees with me....your thoughts?

Holly I agree with your daughter, 100 % You should file charges, this man assaulted you and he needs to know this behavior is unacceptable. Maybe going to jail for a night or two would be a wake up call for him to get help. Best of luck.

First off I am so sorry you had to go through that! and Yes I do agree you should press charges. In a way your helping him, because if he goes to jail, he will have no choice but to get of the drugs, and second, you can help save someone else so they don't get attacked by this person again.

Holly, sometimes going to jail is the only way a person can get quick access to the help they need. Pressing charges may be the best thing you do for the guy.
I have a friend, who had social services called on her by someone out of spite. Turns out, because a social worker had to investigate (which was quickly proved as unfounded) she was able to get my gf some services that were only available because she was called. So, sometimes, a blessing in disguise.gone shopping!

Wow Holly! What a story!
First of all, did you report the incident in the parking lot to the police? That is assualt, and they guy should be charged for it. Maybe they cannot do anything, but still report it!
As for handicapped permits, I am sure we probably get "looks' parking there when Chris and I are out. But people do not know that Chris smashed both legs a year ago and still can't walk long distances. It is not always what you see......
He and I went to the casino one night and could not get a handicapped spot as all were taken. Walking up by them on the way in, I saw one car actually parked BESIDE another one in a spot! Had the person beside him come out, there was no way for him to get in his vehicle. We saw a security girl on the way in and told her and she said they would page the person to move it! Both had permits but REALLY????
As for the mother and the kids in the store, I don't want my post edited nor deleted, so I won't comment!Missing my Best Friend since 1971. RIP Lynda (1947-2012)

It may not change this guy but at the same time he can't just think he is going to get away with it I would agree with your dd People use their life, sustance abuse ect as crutch's and to me it is just wrong.
