Ellen, I often grind roasted soy bean with a coffee grinder to get a "kind of powder" to change texture of my meal.

My local provigo have a kind of "decent" (for a place far far away) selection of gluten free stuff...
Maybe you could look there if you have a provigo? and be sure to get PC points or something else to compense the price if you have no coupon for that kind of product.Last edited by 2010ontest; Tue, May 1st, 2012 at 08:16 PM.

Seriously, next time I go down to the States, don't feel shy IMLN (or others), I can bring back gluten-free stuff for cheaper from the store I frequent. The store has all types of gluten free food (flour, cake mix, pasta, chips, lots I can't even remember) and it's all organic and/or allergen free. Bob's Red Mill Gluten-free bread mix, for example, cost me $3.35? or $3.50 back home regular price, and here I find it for $4.99/$5.49. They also have other flours, potato, etc. and a lot of rice product. Also, taxes in my state (Connecticut) are 6% so couple that with $1-$2 savings on each item, and the savings add up!
I will bring some gluten free black bean chips to the meet if anyone likes it/wants to try it.

I forgot to add that I've been thinking that when my coffee stash dries up (I buy my coffee at this particular store too, as it's so much cheaper, $5.50 for 2.3 lbs of decent coffee-not Folgers type (no offense by this!), that I may take a "joyride" to the closest location of this store (it's called Ocean State Job Lot) which is about 2 hours from Montreal. It would be fun to do a road trip with some of you one day and go to a bunch of stores
