Happy Mothers Day!!! Mothers Day is coming up!!! What are your plans?

It will be Mothers Day on May 13, and time for all us moms out there to get the appreciation we so richly deserve, and to honour our moms for everything they do and all they mean to us. Does your family have anything planned for this day, and what do you have planned to say thanks to your dear mom?

Personally, I am looking forward to my breakfast in bed and my homemade cards. I have flowers I purchased that I will bring to my mothers gravesite, and to my sister's as well.

My mother is going to Europe May 16 and is flying down to the GTA (where I live) May 13 - I had no clue it was Mothers Day until I looked at the calendar a few days ago. So when we pick her up from the airport we will take her to her fav restaurant for lunch (Montana's) and for supper I think I will order in Chinese, another of her favs. I will prob get her something she can use when she is away in Europe and will throw in a GC to Tim Hortons (she is obsessed lol)

DH has already told me he has nothing planned for Mothers Day - and actually he is working.
DD told me she'll cook -eek- and make me a cake

well.. hubby is taking his mom out.. and i will be spending the day alone... chances are my kids 'might' make me breakfast in bed.. so I might just go visit my Mom during the day.

Mom and I have been having some "issues" lately (as I vented in my thread on the topic). But as Mother's Day and her birthday are both close, I am planning on sending her a card and a little gift to let her know that despite our disagreement, I still love her and appreciate all she does for me. I'm hoping that a little gift and a week of "cool off" time will remind her that I love her despite the fact that I won't bail her out financially. I'm planning a visit with my Grandma at the end of the month, so I'll probably take her out for lunch and buy her a plant for her garden as a late Mother's Day gift.

We will be having an "all family" meal at the nursing home for my mother-in-law, as her grandson- my husband's son, is coming for a "fly through" visit from Florida. Then he'll move on to near TO to see his other grandma. On Sunday, we're taking her out to a local wheel-chair accessible restaurant to celebrate the day.

Unfortunately, this will be my first Mother's Day without my mum, so sometime during the day, I'll take my brother out for a visit at the gravesite.

I'm not a "mom" directly to anyone except my puppies. Maybe THEY'LL let me sleep in while dh gives THEM breakfast while I'm in bed. DH always makes breakfast - for that matter - lunch and supper too.
