I won't buy the no-name lasagna....dh made that mistake once....it was gross. I will buy the president's choice lasagna though.
Generally I buy the PC before no-name if I'm not getting a name brand.Collecting Campbell's soup labels for our school RAKs greatly appreciated.
Using WagJag for great deals!

I refuse to buy no-name or any other brand ketchup than Heinz.
I love a lot of the products from President's Choice though. We buy their salad dressing all the time.Visit my Facebook page for updates on Swagbucks, PrizeZombie, GiftHulk and more: http://www.facebook.com/<wbr>MoneyMakersandSavers

I buy NN cheese rice crackers, natural honey, frozen peas and carrots, and recently chicken broth.
I like to buy extra virgin olive oil because it's cheaper than other brand, cost as much as other oil but healthier and i can use it daily.
Those are the only ones i buy.

I think you have to try the No Name products to see how they taste. Sometimes it's worth it to save $1 or more. Other times not so much. For example off brand Corn Flakes are just gross. I tried No Name (or was it PC?) Cheerios at a friend's house, they were SO different as they have a LOT of corn as one of the major ingredients. Checking the ingredient list is probably a wise choice when changing brands.
Just updated my trade list! Want to trade with me?I really really need grocery FPCs & coupons!!! Happy mom of 3 young children

Since I am a Celiac and can't have any gluten whatsoever, most no-name products are off limits to me. The only thing I buy that is no name is butter when it is on sale. I purchase certain brands due to the gluten factor and have for a long time now.

my kids used to idolize the NN brand itchaban noodles, but they recently changed (or we just had a really bad bunch) and they taste absolutely horrible! they smelled horrible cooking them as well. Main ones I swear by have pretty much been mentioned, honey, oils, veggies. Other things that are just as good as others are the kids "lunchables", english muffins, bread crumbs, some of the sandwich meats, NN fruit juices arent bad.

We like:
- cheese - the big blocks, no difference in taste to us, melts nicely
- frozen pea/corn/carrot mix - no difference in taste, and only one we can find with those lima beans
- salad dressings - I cook with the italian, and the girls love the ranch (they say even better than Hidden Valley, I am not convinced...but it tastes okay)
- apple sauce - I cook with it (apple sauce muffins and donuts..yum)
- ice cream - love those big buckets (make great sand pails for the beach afterwards too), taste is pretty good, especially the chocolate. We like it.
- chocolate chip frozen waffles for a quick breakfast before school.
- pretzels
- butter
We don't like:
- NN ketchup...yuck.
- frozen entrees...tried a few, don't like
- canned veggies ...but then we don't like much in the way of canned veggies.
- canned fruit .... again we don't like many brands of canned fruit.
- potato chips
- pop/soda
That is all I can think of for now...I will edit if I think of anything else. HTH
Off topic: Just as a side note: Metro's brand Selection Pizza Sauce is fab! With a homemade pizza crust (or pita shell), thinly sliced pepperoni and mozza cheese...very inexpensive and yummy pizza...kid's can make it themselves.Last edited by breylormom; Mon, Mar 19th, 2012 at 09:23 PM.
