So I was at FB yesterday trying to find boxes for our move and getting a few things, and it seemed like every isle I went down there was a couple that was blind being escorted throught the store bye someone that worked there, and I thought to myself that is nice they do that....Then I was checking out and heard the cashier "yelling" from her cash register how to get out the door and then just turned around to nothing, there wasn't even a customer standing there, So I was walking slower to make sure she was going to get where she was going, and she just about walked into the divider of the front door, and then I realized the cashier gave wrong directions for this woman to get to where she needed to get her cab. I may be over reacting but this bothered me to no end I thought how rude could one person be

I am pretty sure you are not overreacting. Giving wrong directions to a blind person is about as low as you can go.

Yeah I thought so myself I was very mad, I get people may have an issue with directions but if you do there is probably 10 other people you could ask, or you could call your manager

Or she could have actually physically give them a hand which would be the right thing to do. Ah some people.

Ugh that makes me so mad. One of my friends is blind. She has a guide dog and is very independent, smart, capable and able, but sometimes going down stairs or through doorways she needs to grab someone's arm and be told how many steps are left. What you say is incredibly inconsiderate. My friend is so capable that I forget that she could need help sometimes unless she mentions it. But as capable as someone may be though, if a blind person asks for help to get out the door, just giving random crappy directions is the worst

well I think it is more the cashiers then Food Basic's ; ) We have one lady who comes in who is blind at our store someone ALWAYS shops with her, takes her through cash and walks her out. Also not saying it is right BUT yu don't know what was happening with the cashier I know at times I feel like I am being pulled 50 directions

Is that the rule at Food Basics?

When I worked at Zellers we were told not to leave but no one ever reprimanded us if we did, especially when it was to help a customer

    Yes, some do leave.
At training, cashiers are told not to leave.
    It helps with loss prevention.
