Do you have to have membership to shop at M&M? Or do they just have special deals for Max members?

For those of you who are getting the $5 M&M coupon with out purchase you are lucky, if you read the actual Official Rules it does NOT state No Purchase Necessary
The no purchase necessary is for getting the scratch card itself
Cashier is to follow these steps
1. Ring in all items
2. Scratch your card
3. if it reveals a $5 M&M card they give it to you and finish transaction
4. if it reveals a $5 CT card they are to take off $5 if and only if your purchase is over $5 before taxes
Not too sure where everyone is reading No Purchase necessary for the M&M card
I have read the official rules and regulations posted at CS as well called HO to confirm and they said while some store may do it differently they should be following the rules that you must purchase something
My store I just bought a $0.10 washer as I knew the cards were all $5 M&M cards and I paid with CT money - no cost to me and I gained 18 $5 M&M cards

I am about done with these scratch card promos at CT! They are nothing but hassle after hassle! It took me over 15 minutes to get my M&M card because, for the first time, I was told I had to wait in line for a cashier "Because it had to be scanned". I finally got to the cashier and in 10 seconds was done. She took the card, ripped a coupon off and handed it to me.
Usually I just use the self serve cashier, scratch it, and leave. The one today was totally snippy to me, despite me being very polite when she snapped at me 4 times. The store was very busy and it did not matter which line you went to, all of them were over 10 deep.
With the M&M's being about two minutes from CT, I expected it to be busy too... I pulled in, not one car in the lot! Left the van running (A/C was blasting!), went in and got the burgers and was out in less then one minute! The woman there said I was only the second person with a coupon all weekend!
I am not sure if our store is open tomorrow, I got one left... do I dare venture back in there??? *LOL* Maybe for free burgers, why not!Missing my Best Friend since 1971. RIP Lynda (1947-2012)

I went in at 4:00 on Sunday. I was getting a couple of things I needed for camping. I waited more than 30 mins in line because they only had 2 cashiers open and the store was PACKED and they scratched a $5 M&M. After she scratched, they told me that they were out of M&M cards so I would be getting NOTHING.
I was NOT TO IMPRESSED. I only went there because of the promo just like everyone else, and if they were out of coupons the should have been subbing something like last time, or they should have at least been letting people know that they were our before they waited so long in line. Tuesday I am going to be making a phone call. They should have had enough cards to cover the demand in the area, and if not, should have had a back up plan.

My brother and I used 4 scratch cards and got 4 M&M cards. To get these, I bought 3X 6 cells of flowers (in 3 separate transactions) plus one redemption at the customer service. We then went to M&M and each redeemed 2 cards. He bought ice cream - 2 for 2.99 each and 2 chicken wraps at 2.99 each - 2X $5.00. I bought 2 packages of D'Italiano at 2.99 each - $5.00 - I also bought 2 stuffed chicken lunches 2.99 - $5.00.
So flowers that I meant to buy and food almost free - I'm happy.

I asked CT head office "Anne" about that and was told that it's not considered stealing from me because all the cards are property belonging to Canadian Tire and they have the rights to take them back when ever they want. The rules state "one card per person" so if I have more than one card they can take them all from me.

Thanks! I was on their website to try and find the CEO's e-mail or number and read some reviews on the North Vancouver location and apparently it seems as if this manager is not very friendly to asians. I am Asian and sure hope this is not true. Need to get the CEO's e-mail badly now.
