Bet she's pretty cute! What makes you like her?
There's a lot of heartless people out there that think of pets as disposable. I have 3 myself, that are rescues. They're all awesome. One of my dogs is likely the result of a backyard breeder though. He's a bit psycho and likely would've been put down if he'd ever ended up in a shelter. He also happens to be cute as a button, playful, loyal, and snuggly. . .so you take the good with the bad.
Warning - tear jerker (you may need to go to Costco first and load up on tissues ;)).

After an inspection, the shelter determined my home needs some more repairs and Lovey ( the name they gave the corgi) will go to a different family instead.
Awwww. . . sorry to hear that Gryphon. They actually inspected your home??? Wow. . .that's crazy!!
I have a German Shepard she is my favorite of all the dogs we have had.But she will also be the last dog we will own it is just to expensive to care for a animal these days and well you need to be able to look after them properly also. Chanel is 7yrs old

I agree with that totally logical and responsible choice about pet ownership @bluerose . I have tried to instill this in my kids telling them when they leave home ( eventually ?? lol ) do NOT take on a pet. You will not have the time, financial resources or selflessness ( cleaning the litter box, daily walking of dogs comes to mind ) to truly care for them properly. Until you do, just volunteer to help at a pet rescue shelter or something.
Chanel seems like a very loved pet!! Man she is one big doggy compared to our 2 puny Shih Tzu's lol!!
It happens rarely, but every once in a long while Yahoo posts an actual good story. When that happens I have to share it. Yeah yeah, it's FB but I found it on Yahoo. Remember your tissue.

my poor baby Murphy ( shih tzu ) seems to have " something ". He's has had diarrhea since late evening Sunday.
Rather than panic, I went the " wait and see " route. Tried giving him very little food, a bit of plain rice with chicken breast.
No change by Wed.....hmmm, so yesterday evening to the vets we went, his exam and overall health was good, his tail was even wagging, no vomiting or fever.
Sent home with cans of Gastrointestinal no fat food and pills to slow down his bowels.
Always a nice fat bill to pay......that is the way it is. But poor Murphy, he is such a sweetie.
don't we all feel badly when any of our pets are shamed into wearing a cone? Our Rufus has a red puffy left eye ( infection ?) area, the vet figures he is scratching it and making it worse. So ointment and this cone for 10 days.
We call it his " snow cone " because when he goes out back to do his business and sniffs around it fills up with snow! ha ha
^^^ Awe, poor Rufus. I hope he's better soon @walkonby
