I ran afoul of the admin at another site (a philosophy forum and my fault that I ran afoul) and got turfed. That was a couple of days ago, so a little while ago today I went to delete them from my favorites list but decided to call a few the kids over to watch the deletion (the older ones, they knew I went there often). Told them I was kicked out, and that I was going to delete them.
Then I did. (delete them from my favorites list.) They saw me click the delete button.
There, they're gone, no more [that site]. Theyre not on the internet anymore. Says I.
Wait, Dad, what? For everyone. It's all gone?
Yup. You know I know a lot about the computer right?
Yes. But won't they be angry?
Probably. And it put me in the mood to delete something else. Maybe Facebook.
FACEBOOK!!! NO! EVERYBODY WILL HATE YOU!! Everybody will hate us because you're our dad!
Youtube then?
No! Why don't you delete SmartCanucks? (they really said that )
But I love those people, why would I do that? Maybe I'll delete Google...
Dad, they'll send you to jail.
Right, right, they are scary, I'll probably never be heard from again. No messing with Google. So who to delete then?
NOBODY!!
Then I let them know I was joking around.
My kids are familiar with my sense of humor, for some reason, and thought it was pretty funny. This thread is currently associated with: N/ALast edited by DaveP; Sun, May 6th, 2012 at 06:30 PM.

I think you are on to something DaveP.
If only we could have the power to delete Facebook, Google and whomsoever we don't like on the Internet. Imagine the possibilities...

Too funny! But when I first glanced at the title of the thread I read: "my kids think I'm impotent"! LOL

Thanks for keeping us, Dave!
Just how old are these kiddies?
You're lucky they think you're omnipotent; mine only thinks I'm omniscient, but it's served me well!

Too funny! I can think of some internet stuff that could use your powers of deletion It's so amazing being a kid and feeling like your parents are all powerful, omniscient and have some kind of control over the universe - it's a special kind of magic in my book
Your anecdote reminds me of being a kid (around 3 or 4 at the time, back before Knight Rider went off the air anyways) and how my Dad could convince me that he didn't actually know how to drive - that he just had a car like KITT that he had trained to go where he needed to go (but without sound because he didn't like any kind of noise in the car)! I would say, "But Dad, how does it know where to go?" He would always tell me that the car knew because he had trained it (and it had maybe spent some time with KITT) and that was the important bit. As I was always in the backseat, he could also (for a few seconds - he wasn't a daredevil) drive with a knee holding the steering wheel and hold his hands above his head to show me for real! Oh, the memories
