thank you, great find!
Thanks so much. was going to shop this week but don't need cosmetics. This is great!
If I use this on the purchase of the $75 perfume samplers, will I still get the 20X the bonus points, as my total then only be $65. plus tax?
Bah I can't believe it! I just spent $52 today. Argghh
I have never spent much money at SDM before, but did want to take advantage of this deal.
I printed this coupon out and made a detailed, but flexible shopping list.
When I entered the store, I stopped to clarify with the manager ( who loves my co-operative couponing attitude), if there were any special conditions or requirements for using the coupon. I also clarified that the $50 requirement was *before coupons were applied*.
Before I cashed out, I bought a store card to get the points for that purchase.
I got:
- Jamieson Probiotics 60 capsules (Was $16.99) Sale $13.99
(This was a necessary and urgently needed item.)
- 7 x Irish Spring Deodorant (Was $6.99) Sale 2/$5 - $2 coupon= $0.50 each
- 3 x Oasis Shelf Juice (Was $4.79) Sale $3.49- $1.25 coupon= $2.24 each
- Almond Fresh 1.89l (Was $4.99) Sale $3.49- $0.75 coupon= $2.24
- 2 x Multigrain Cheerios (Was $4.29) Sale $1.99 each
- large bag of Kettle Popcorn (Was $2.99) - Free WUS$5 coupon= FREE
Then I presented the "Save $10 WUS $50 coupon" (ie 20% off the whole purchase).
After the all the coupons I spent $24.28 for $81.22 in merchandise, saving about 70% from the regular prices.
Ah Crap! I forgot to use the FPC for the popcorn.
I only started doing organized shopping lists recently.
They have been a good tool in many ways.
That is not to say that I don't go "off list" quite a bit of the time.
I find that I am less likely to miss items and can quickly compare and budget using the list.
Also when an item scans incorrectly ( ie potential SCOP- free item) having the numbers directly in front of me helps me feel confident to challenge an incorrect price.
It also seems to make the store staff assured that I know what I am doing.
Let my annoyance be a lesson for you. I had decided I was not going to buy anything at all at SDM this week so didn't print out this coupon. But I went in for a pop yesterday and looked at their clearance rack and a perfume I have been wanting for a while was on clearance for a ridiculous discount at $48. I got a great deal anyways, it just could have been better if I was prepared with a printout.
During my transaction, the cashier accidentally did not input the $10 off coupon correctly so that it did not go into my final bill. She realized her mistake seconds later as she showed me my 'final amount' on the receipt.
It was over 10 minutes of hassle trying to correct that.
We both stayed in a relaxed and good humour about the whole thing.
Because I keep a co-operative and friendly attitude about the extra time and hassles that couponing is for store staff, they really like dealing with me.
