Ta da da da da (Sung to the tune of "Strangers in the Night")

Now I know what that wee little froggie was doing there the other night! And our dog's been drinking out of it!!!

I hope the local bird population doesn't make a buffet out of this!

be prepared to have a tonne of little frogs jumping around your lawn. And i mean a TONNE!!! They are cute...but even just walking around the lawn it will be hard to not step on them once they get out there.
One year frogs decided to lay eggs on our pool cover....at first I just thought it was slimy sludge but then one day I took a closer look....tadpoles....this pool was about 8 feet across and at least 20 feet long and the cover was just loaded with them.
I tried to do the right thing and transport as many as I could. i took about 10 buckets down to our creek and relocated them them in a swampy area...but the others had to be sucked up with the pool pump.
I felt bad...but there was nothing I could do.

We have a large pond and an even LARGER frog population. They sing to us at night (imagine a few hundred frogs singing) It's a bit deafening but soothing at the same time. I think the "frog spawn" or tadpoles are an important source of food for a lot of wild life including fish, birds and small animals.
Whatever survives. . .gets to sing next year. .

We own the vacant lot next to our house and there's always frogs breeding over there. We have to be careful about leaving doors open otherwise froggies will come in.

No updates today - it was raining this morning and I didn't get outside. Spent the afternoon in a dusty smelly room sorting engraving equipment.
I'll check tomorrow and assume that frogs don't develop in 2 days.
