I'm a retired teacher. This program is so great because it introduces the whole idea of healthy living and activity while raising money! Good luck to your daughter! I get involved at the other end now in counting the money that comes in for Heart and Stroke.

    Very cool.

I remember doing this every year in elementary school.

I also have memories of this from elementary school in the 1980's! I'm so happy to see a school fundraiser that doesn't involve chocolate, cookies, ice cream, or any kind of junk food

High five to your daughter on raising money for a good cause!

I ran this program one year here and it was so much fun visiting all the schools and seeing so many kids excited about it...a few were high-schools, also, and seeing them participating in such a worthwhile cause was so uplifting! Good luck to your DD!!

Neat! I didn't know that the program ran in high schools as well. I remember it from being a kid and my poor teachers trying to teach a clumsy 7-year-old me how to skip double-dutch (they never succeeded)! I'm just a one-jump-rope kind of gal, I guess

My girls are doing that soon too. I'm finding it hard though to get them sponsored this year because it's one of about 5 fund raisers within the last month and a half! On top of that there's a field trip and yearbooks to order. I wish they would spread these things out more throughout the year!

They don't have that program here as far as I know. We have fundraisers for the same types of things though. My gs is selling tickets right now for a chance to win a nintendo 3DS, all money sold stays in the school and is for their food program to feed kids that come to school hungry in the morning and again at lunch. We have such wonderful programs running across Canada in all the schools for children, to improve their lives. It makes me smile. Say congrats to your daughter and I hope she makes her goal. It is a lofty one for such a young child. KUDO'S to her.
