i agree 100%. very rarely do i see greeters 'greeting' people. if they're there to check merchandise then dont call them greeters. i'm sure i'll be flamed for this.

It's true. I frequent 2 Walmarts and have seen the same greeters working there regularly. I'd say they were in their late 50's to mid 60's.
I'm sure they recognize me, but never have they said "hello", smiled or greeted me in anyway.
They're not rude, they just aren't friendly! Not that it matters -
I try and make an effort to say hi and ask how they're doing if we make eye contact and I'm walking past them. It makes me feel better.

We have great greeters at our walmart!!!! Tons of baskets and tons of smiles!! Sorry you have such bad luck with them.
