My son's specialist is signing off on one of my son's hearing aids. Just wondering if anyone know's how much they cost, and if they break easy. My son is 5 and play's rough, so i'm worried that i'll be paying a lot of money for something that will break in a week. any info would be great. Thanks.

The price here is $500+, depending on the quality and technology you're looking for. A little boy (3yo) in DS's nursery school just got one a couple of months back and he's still got the same one. He's a pretty busy kid.

Depends on the hearing loss really. Mine were very expensive, but I'm almost deaf so that's why LOL. But when it comes to kids, hearing aid companies have gotten pretty amazing with their aids. They have children's hearing aids that can take a beating, and there's a kind that they can swim with too! Here in Ontario we have ADP(assistive devices program) which pays for I think 75% of the cost and ODSP(Ontario Disablity Support Program) which will pay the rest if you're on ODSP. I noticed you're from SK. so I did a little research, found three links (all semi connected) that might be of use for you:

I hope that helps! I've had hearing aids since I was 4 years old, and I'm turning 24 this summer so I can relate to your son
