Holy Smokes Batman!!!!! Look what coupons and generous SC'r helped me do!!!!
For those of you who don't know my son has Autism.
We are very blessed to know that his Autism was caused by Fragile X Syndrome....only 5% or
less know what caused it...the rest have no clue. There is no cure.
I am very blessed with the support I get from my husband, parents, family and dear friends.
My son understands quite a bit and every year I try to teach him to help others whether putting a toy
in the toy mountain bin at Christmas or taking food to the poor. But as a family we especially love
taking part in the Walk Now For Autism Speaks event in downtown Toronto. It helps my son
understand that lots of people have Autism and also allows us to help the growing
population of Autistic children and adults strive for a cure and more awareness.
Every year we raise funds but the most fun is our two charity garage sales.
Last year I did my first one selling off my excess stockpile. It was a hit! We also ask our friends, family, and neighbours to
donate items they don't need. My son even picks out his toys to put in the sale too.
This year I have never felt so blessed! To start with both The Big Pink and Fourfurryfeet from here on SC are joining me
and my family for the walk on June 17!! Secondly thanks again to The Big Pink and Kristeven for donating
items to my sale with the rest of my street! And we can't forget Mom who watched my little man so me and the Big Pink (who came in from downtown TO to help me out...such an amazing person!!) could deal with the madness!!
So here for those who are waiting....start singing!!!

For those whom I love.
This day was insane!! We were suppose to start at nine. We got the tables set up and brought out the first box...all we hear is car doors slam and a bunch of women start coming. They couldn't wait for us to get stuff out of the garage! At one point I brought out a box and a woman goes...what's in there? I told her it was a box of Puffs tissues and she goes...I'll take the box!! She didn't even ask how much they are!! (Should have marked them for $10...lol) Almost all my stockpile items were sold before 9am! I had 10 Special K yoga mats I had gotten from my recycle walks....next thing I know the box holding them is empty!
We also want to thank Shwa Girl who came out as well....and donated to our cause and bought items!!!
(If anyone wants to donate to our walk message me and I will give you the link)
So I want to thank everyone on here...thank you for all the help finding the deals...matching the coupons to flyers!
You all rock!!!
One sale down....one left to go in Scarborough....and we raised $400!!!!!
(and most items were 25c or 5c!)
We only raised $200 last year!!!
Thanks again everyone!!
ps We were going to take a photo but everything was gone by the time we got to breathe!!
