Can someone explain this to me? Do they sell expired food or close to expiry or something?
I looked at the website and all the locations look a little ... dumpy? One looks like a resturant and the others all look like dumpy wearhouses. I'd love to know a little bit more about the speciality aspect of this store as I'm not quite sure what sets it apart from other grocery stores.Insert Clever Signature Here

OP... Thanks! I haven't been there in years. I didn't realize they sold veggie burgers, etc, will definitely check it out. Also, sometimes the products they sell are just label errors in production but nothing wrong with the product inside (at least that's the way it was years ago!).

Yeah, they sometimes don't have labels on them at all, but I've also gotten a lot of Yves veggie products. Last summer they had the Bistro burgers you get in the freezer for about half the price of Loblaws. Another year they had bags of a variety of products, deli meats, ground round etc for $5 or so. Really great prices. I had one of the chicken burgers yesterday and it was really good. They also had chicken tenders but I was already way over my freezer limit and didn't bother.

Sometimes their products aren't perfect -- they're "Almost Perfect". The pie crust might be cracked, or the icing on the cake a bit smushed. Tastes the same as the Perfect product, but at a much better price.
