Negociations are still ongoing. They have a huge gap between them and this will certainly be a huge eye opener for those students at the table.
I hope they take all the time necessary to resolve this.

Unconfirmed reports have the tuition hike offer down to $217 for 7 years on the governemnt side. No word on whether the students are even willing to accept a deal that would include a hike.
Reality check please.

So, theystopped the negotiations! I really did think something would of happened (positively)and did any of you guys see Jean's interview afterwards? It was like watchingsomeone diarrheaing (if that's a word)from his mouth. They only way to settlethis imo is an election or referendum, obviously nor the gouv nor the studentscan settle this so I think it's time us civilians get involved and pass a vote.
I do notbelieve the Grand Prix should get touched by this, it's a terrible idea.

After seeing the proposal from the governement yesterday and the counter proposal by the students I am even more disgusted with the students.
How dare they suggest that families give up the right to contribute to RESP's ( A FEDERAL PROGRAM) and how dare they suggest that their fellow students give up a tax break. They are anti-middle class. To suggest that people who contribute to resp's are better off and don't need these programs is an absolute display of ignorance and selfishness. Once again they need a reality check.
I believe the government has offered too much. It will end up being free for many students and guess who has to pay?

Chilean people had been protesting for free education since.... 1992, first it was the teachers, then the university students, and lately high-school kids, so yeah the pic its real... but their are mostly complaining about the quality of the education, the gap between the rich kids and the majority.

I might go support the students here in Chambly tonight! Although I started against them, I opened my mind (as for I've always been pro gouv) and now I feel it took the students for me (and many others imo) to see what we don't have to accept, walking around head down saying 'yes sir' to the government always just trusting in them. Now not at all! I'm actually thankful to them and think this has turned into something positive (less breakers ect..) I understand some points on the other side of this as well being that I was on that side but Inow feel passionet about this and 100% support the students in their movement.

Governement is already touching the tax's return with the rise of the bursaries stuff, students did make a similar proposal and the governement rejected it, even if it was the same type of financing.
They never talked about RRSP.
