+100%. And then when that melting snow refreezes.
Mom slipped due to this and hit her head on the snowbank. Then I tried to grab her and I slipped too...
Doc said he's seen more ice slip and falls this year than years before

@torontogal12-hope that snowbank was soft! If there was hard snow, keep alert to Mom's temper or changes in short-term memory. My Mom hit a hard floor when she fell last year and she won't deal with head issues/see doctor since last June. Just recently, she asked me what I was using as I was setting up to clean a section of living room carpet-it's the car carpet cleaner, the second time in a three-month period. She had no recollection of having asked me about it in prior times (twice)-I told her she did and when. So frustrating...
I should thank PattySmyth for her mention of coming snow this weekend. I was contemplating taking the bag of salt indoors this week but last night, in a trip to the green cart, I saw snow falling (light layer).
Sprinkled some salt on the walks right after I was done with the cart matter and thought how glad I was the salt and shovels were still outside!
It is a bad year for people falling on the ice. I had a bad fall recently and still can't put any weight on my knees. Boy, I wish we had medical care here. Haven't had a family doctor for many years now. They keep telling us to go to a private clinic....:violin:Who can afford that? I'll stop my rant now. All this to say that I can't find ice bags anywhere; it's strange that they're sold out everywhere I look. Finally managed to order from good ol' Amazon.ca. (a big bag of ice makes it easier to put ice in my big glass of gin :lolsign: )
I rearranged my entire weekend to fit in a last minute birthday brunch for my friend (even though this weekend we were celebrating my DH's birthday.
I ask friend "so when and where is brunch." Cancelled. Didn't bother to tell me.
Physical pain hinders your plans for the day. I have a "wonderful" migraine again and my leg is acting up (post-thrombotic syndrome). I am studying for a university exam that I am writing tomorrow, it is worth 25% of my grade.
ops, sorry; repped with info for dinner @ my son's - duh
Had a 9:30 appt. @ H & R Block, called in on time, but she spent 45 min. answering phone calls, booking appts., etc. while I just sat there.
After I got up from my nap on Sunday, which was an attempt to deal with my nasty migraine, I discovered that I had a bad case of food poisoning. I believe that the food poisoning was from the chef's salad that I ate that morning at Husky restaurant. :( Sometimes life really does get in the way of more important things...like that university exam that I still wrote on Monday afternoon.
Was the tax service a kiosk in the mall or Walmart? I only see one person in the cubicle at the local Walmart and the light is bad (nothing overhead and there are shadows but location is between customer service and McDonalds). A H&R retail storefront office used to have someone on reception exclusively for handing customer dropoffs, appointments and return pickups. Other staff were seasonal tax preparers and the one experienced manager.
paperwork not being filed by a third party in a timely manner totally screws you for months of future finances.
i am beyond emotionally drained at this point. what the heck is the point in even trying anymore?
depressed and angry. beyond description.
ladybirds everywhere in the house.
Every paper in the lobby of your apartment building has had the coupon insert(s) removed! I grabbed one paper on my way out this evening and it had a red plum insert but not SS. When I got home I decided to check another paper to see if maybe just mine was missing the SS, but no inserts at all. Checked through another 5, same thing. I gave up after 5 but I'm just assuming they're all missing inserts.
you meet someone you thought was very nice and they turn out to be a nutjob
