My pots that I bought mid-season at Target ended up doing well. Cut down my daylilies and clematis in the front

Patyi, if your ankle is still painful, bothering you, I would have it checked. Hopefully there isn't a fracture and if so they should be able to provide some type of treatment.

Yesterday we had really windy weather and it was 2 C this morning. My mandevilla is somewhat weathered along with my canna lily. Marigolds are dying off. Time to yank everything.

    That's odd.

Here is what's blooming in the front today and the gomphrena from the back. The nasturtium aren't that red of a colour as they look but more of the standard orange. I picked about 2/3 of the gomphrena and will try to dry them out. It usually works pretty well. I also cut some of the shoofly, some of the baptisia seeds and some of the blue salvia for winter arrangements.

The nasturiums in your first photo, theo44, have vivid colour! Mom's flowers kind of gave up after I trimmed about half of them-their colour was great prior to trim.

Love the colours in the third photo-wow, that looks a fun place for a child or cat to play!

This morning, did not look to my left as I exited house to collect the green cart and garbage can. Wanted to spot the visiting cat that had crossed over to our side of the road. On walk back to garage, I noticed a rainbow (right half) above the trees at the back of property. Of course I totally miss getting THAT image but I did get part of the rainbow after it was scrubbed out twice by winds/clouds as the rainbow retreated westwards.

Photo 5 is the best of the batch (from second time partial rainbow was visible). This was taken at around 8:20-8:30am.

No, I did not see any pot of gold or Lucky Charms cereal stash-might take the chromatic refraction as good indication that I need to buy my Lotto 6-49 ticket today for tomorrow's draw.

Was outside for a little fresh air and round of handraking the pine needles out of Mom's front flowerbed. Impressed that the miniature roses are still holding strong! Some other green leafy plants remain, and the leggy chrysanthemums with their pale dusty pink flowers and white/yellow centres. Snow alyssum and the geraniums in ceramic planter are close to ending their colour display.

Correction-the orange flowers I mentioned in early October are actually marigolds-Mom told me. Still bright orange! Saw a couple of flowering plants whose group effort bloomed in July/August. These two stragglers either were left from my trimming effort and are trying to grow or are two plants that surfaced after the fall trim job. Last dash for warm weather is next week then it cools off again.

Mother Nature's shaking out the remaining leaves from the trees today.

Round three of ladybugs was on last week during the warm days. Still occasionally spot a stray bug.

Dad did his garlic planting in early October as the weather was going to cool off after a warm Thanksgiving.

I still have kale and swiss chard even though we went below 0. I took off the last of the green tomatoes and 2 cucumbers today. All in all it was a great year for the veggie garden. Flowers did so-so depending on the variety.

I'm seriously considering rescuing my rosemary plant before the big colds hit. I made the best rosemary honey shortbread today and it would be a shame to have to spend money on fresh rosemary when I want to make it again when I have a perfectly good plant outside.

Sounds delicious! You could perhaps use some rosemary for flatbread later this week!

5 Robins seem to think our Cotoneaster berries are wonderful. Winter Thyme was blooming last week. Noticed some daffs poking through in one of the sheltered areas in town the other day ..... and..... those silly Camelias - are looking like they want to think about showing the colour. But, the evergreen clematis is stoically holding out.
This little hummer was on our Eucaluptus tree last week.
