It's aquatic in that it likes moist soil, not necessarily buried deep in water. I've only got my pot in about three inches of water, it doesn't care to be submerged, I guess. I think as long as you keep in well watered you should be fine It's beautiful.

Thanks Walks, Bobby was following me all over while I was taking pics. Sadly we lost Oreo yesterday to heart failure. He had a heart murmur and we knew there was a chance he would not last long. Bobby was wandering around looking all over for him .

Oh, Patty, I'm so very sorry to read about the loss of your kitty, how awful. I'm sure the others will be so sad, too.
Once when we had a cat die, the other honestly was in mourning for eight months - he didn't wash, barely ate - it was just awful.
Your plants are all so lush and beautiful - so great that you can put all the effort into such gorgeous results!

It seems almost all of the rose bushes have been putting forth buds or flowers (not numerous) in the past two weeks. I was thinking they were on strike this summer-the bushes were growing such long branches (now trimmed back because I was not having them stick around) during June and early July. Even the stragglers in the backyard seem to be flowering (despite the beetles' munching of several leaves).

I love all your gardening pictures! Gardening is a full-time hobby and i know you spent hours and hours and money acheiving the results you have! Right now my garden is on a small scale, (patio), the flower beds are doing well, and the red currant bush is producing like crazy. Next year, once the swimming pool is gone, hubby will be making me a garden in the back yard like we used to have. Im already planning on what i will plant there: zucchini, beans, carrots, beets, onions, tomatoes and cucumbers and various spices.
This year, i planted tomatoes, English cucumbers, onions, lettuce and dill. Strangely enough, weve been eating tomatoes from my patio garden since the end of June. I piccked the last of the lettuce this week. The green onions, i keep replanting as i pick, so we have green onions all summer long. Ive also been drying spices for use during winter: basil, oregano, Rosemary, thyme, chives, garlic chives (im sure i left some out), and drying mint leaves for tea.
I have a nice recipe for 13 Spices that an Acadian woman gave me and it is fantastic. If anyone is interested, let me know and i will post it.
