What's blooming in your yard?

Beautiful, Patty :)

I love the pansies, they're definitely my favorite, but I don't plant them anymore. It gets too hot here and they bolt and get all leggy and gross. I bought a couple of red dragon wings for my urn, I'll plant them out tomorrow. They were only $3.29 each! I also bought a pink canna lily, a variegated boxwood and a few little pot fillers for the pot at the front of my house. A couple of tomatoes go into the back where there is more sun. The bean seeds also go into the dirt tomorrow. I'm going to try them both in a pot and also in the ground just to see which ones do better.

I have beans in a pot too near the telephone pole support wire which is in my backyard. I also have some in the ground am anxious to see what happens.

I think my pansies will got leggy too with the heat but I couldn't resist. :)

You don't have to hide your enthusiasm :P I stalk this thread all summer too :). I love seeing gardens in other parts of the country.

ohh!! I also love looking at all the talented green thumbery going on. The thing growing the best in my yard are the green runner beans ( hope I remembered that name right ), but those 2 things of parsley?? Well they finally JUST started a teensie sprouting today ( after about 3 weeks ago when I tossed the seeds in ) The snow peas are coming along pretty good.
Patty I did 2 tomato Topsy Turvy ones as well for DH who has always been curious if they work.
Tbites I am now thinking I will have to cover all my stuff like yours with a mesh netting because that darn Chipmunk did cruel damage to 3 long planter trays last week.

Attachment 241426 cool and rainy here today. Glad we put my veggy bed in a week before the may long weekend. Its doing very good. Still lots to do, more cleaning (but that never stops), more annuals to plant. Trellis to put up, etc etc. Got a few planters done, I love watching everything grow.

I LOVE the fire hydrant and the bench with old wheels, so cool !

Tbites - the top of the iris doesn't open any further.. what you see is what you get and what you got is bee-u-tee-ful :)
Mine have brought up a bunch of flower spikes but they're not blooming yet. I'm guessing within the week they'll be open. They're batik irises, look like this one...

It's just that we won't be able to buy any plants at all this year, I'm so sad.
Hoping to maybe get some dollar store seeds, though - at least something.

We just got apocalyptic rain. Can't wait for the weekend when temps will be in the mid-20's!! Should be an explosion of growth.

Not a what's blooming in your yard thing...But for a familly event I purchased in a florist store an ''Anthurium'' witch is red and beautiful.Can be an exterior natural plant but I wanted her Inside ,a very nice natural plants ,I hope it will last many year,I need to purchase a container for the plant soon.

I planted my vegetable garden on May long weekend. There are still a lot of sprouts that I am waiting on. I have three separate vegetable garden plots in our back yard. A portion of one is between our shed and our garage, so it gets a fair bit of shade and typically doesn't grow much there. I decided to plant 5 short rows of peas in this area. To my surprise they are growing wonderfully there. The peas are growing WAY better in this spot that the peas that I planted in the other vegetable plot (where I usually plant them). I will certainly plant peas there again next year. :) Still hoping that a lot of these other seeds are just being slow to germinate.

edit: To clarify, I planted peas in both spots this year. The area with the shade has plants that are 3 times larger than the other are. In the one area, I am still waiting on 3/4 of the peas to break the soil, whereas there is a plant in the shaded area that already has the climbing tendrils.
