and when has their bloody amendment ever saved anyone in that situation, them and their flipping John Wayne riding in to shoot up the bad guy mentality. Never once has any civilian taken out a shooter. Not since the wild west ffs.

The gunman turned himself in early this AM

The 13 yr old boy shot in the head was not from Toronto - he is listed as in critical but stable condition - hope he pulls through!

this is the kind of news that will have a negative impact on canadian tourism. earlier this year the toronto police were boasting of having a lower crime rate than before. ha, look at the things happening here now!

    Wow!

I was away from home and the tv for the weekend and just catching up on life now. This is crazy!!!!! I was once at a convenient store when someone came in and held up and robbed the store. I always get really emotional when I hear about any horrible incidents like this.

I was in the Eaton Centre an hour before the shooting! I was still in the area when it happened and saw people being loaded into the ambulance. I feel so horrible for those who were directly affected by this pointless crime. I heard that there will be a live news conference this afternoon at 2. I'm curious to find out more since the arrest was made.

it's a targeted gang related shooting, no big surprise!
    Toronto is still safe
certain communities and neighborhoods have a higher crime rate
based on their culture and belief systems this was unheard of 30 years ago.

the link below shows the city by homicide.

News conference will be at 2 p.m.

Two people remain in hospital following Saturday's shooting: a 23-year-old man was shot in the neck and chest several times and remains in critical condition. A 13-year-old boy who was visiting Toronto from Port Hope, Ont., with his family was shot in the head and has now been upgraded to stable condition from critical condition.

    Second victim dies

A man has succumbed to injuries he suffered during the deadly food court shooting that took place in Toronto's Eaton Centre on June 2.
Toronto police say 22-year-old Nixon Nirmalendran died Monday evening. Police previously said he had suffered "multiple gunshot wounds" in the food court attack.

If the justice system had worked the way it 'should', neither of these guys would have been in the mall. The shooter was supposed to be on house arrest and, as you say, the other had warrants out for his arrest - drug trafficking, obstructing a police officer, and possession of stolen goods. Hassan was out on bail at the time for the alleged forcible confinement of another Fort McMurray man, Jama Ahmed Mahamoud, in September 2008. He was supposed to be living with his parents in Edmonton.

the shooter and his two victims are members of the same gang, it's personal, not gang-related.
