I bought two of the 591ml Cokes on sale 2/$3 yesterday at my local SDM. I knew the promotion was 10X the OP on Coke products, so I figured I would get 300 OP for the 10X bonus. Well I didn't. I got 210. I asked the cashier why I didn't get the 300 OP and she couldn't explain it, and neither could the supervisor. The supervisor suggests I call the 800 number for an explanation, since they don't correct these kind of things at the store level anyway.
I get home and call and spoke to Kevin, who was polite and helpful. He explained that my purchase wasn't really $3 for the two Cokes, but that it is broken down into two $1.50 sales. So I would receive 10X one dollar twice, less the regular OP amount of 30 for spending $3 to begin with, which they added back on again anyway.
This seems really cheap and kind of shady on SDM's part. I am glad I didn't buy 12 bottles of pop. I wanted the 591ml for the iTunes code so it seemed like a good deal. The best thing is that I learned that as much as we try to maximize the BP, Shoppers is trying to find sneaky ways to minimize the amount of BP we can get. This thread is currently associated with: Pharmaprix, Shoppers Drug Mart

UUGGHH, Metro does something similar. When they mark down their pre-made salads they are supposed to be half off.
So tell me why a salad for $7.99 only gets $3.50 off (if you're even lucky!!) as opposed to $4 off? Because my dear friend, they only mark down half price the first number of the salad. If they added one penny more you would then save $0.50 more. Of course they wouldn't want to do that!Insert Clever Signature Here

Very interesting! Thanks for the info OP. I bought two of the 591ml Cokes on sale 2/$3 to take to the show the other day but I didn't look at my receipt for the bonus points.

The iTunes deal ended on May 31st. The code on the Coke lids had to be entered before midnight on May 31st. iCoke then emails a code for the free iTunes and you have until September to redeem the iTunes credit. So.....yeah, it's over now.
