So here I am thinking that "gift cards", apparently, can no longer have expiry dates. Yesterday, using my PC Prepaid Long Distance card, I try to phone a friend in Chicago. Punch in my card number, and a very UNFRIENDLY female recorded voice says, "This card has expired. Good-bye". I logged in to PC Telecom and see that my card was activated on August 13, 2008, and their terms state that it is valid for 6 months .....way down in the fine print. So would you not think that the $35.00 that is still on the card would be valid? Do phone cards not fall under the gift card non-expiry legislation??????????????

Long distance cards are not gift cards and it is no different than the credit you can buy for cell phones - I have never got a LD card that didn't have an expiry (or an agreement that it charges $1 per month or something when not used etc)
Try contacting them and see if they will renew it

Yes, the prepaid phone cards all have an expiry date but give them a call. I've been PC long dist. card user over a year now, i use it to call europe as well as bc, and so far, i'm really satisfied with the card. Its rates are great, and in the past, i used a lot of different cards that had connection problems and poor quality (i couldn't even hear my parents when they were speakin), so after all that trouble, this card is really worth it.

So I did contact pctelecom, and after a bit of discussion, they reinstated my expired card for 24 hours, which was long enough to "top it up", and SAVE my $35. Thank you BIG time to FallenPixels, as I never would have thought to phone them. Yahoo!
