I guess I will start first that by saying since I started couponing my life has changed in so many ways. Before I started couponing i was a lowsy shopper...lol...I never paid attention to the best deals or sales and I would just spend money stupidly. After starting couponing I began a whole new way of how I shopped. I learned to compare prices and look for things when they are on sale. I have also learned all about how to get the best deals on reward programs and maximize points. I have manage to stash money away and I feel less pressure in my life..

I spend a lot of my time on Smart Canucks and that stops me from going out shopping just for the sake of it or spending money elsewhere. I also am much more aware of prices, savings and "good deals." I have met many caring individuals here and it renews my faith in humanity. There are so many role-models of people who are making their income work no matter what it is!

I'm in agreement with Avon. I can get a better idea of what a "good deal" is with less running around than I did before. I don't use coupons all that often to be honest, but I do firmly believe in frugal living and get some great tips on that front from other SC'ers. I am still in awe of whoever told me to save the liners from cereal boxes to use in place of waxed paper

- Has given me something else to be obsessive about
- Coupons have begun overtaking my home.. bedroom, kitchen, car, desk.... they're everywhere !!!
- I've always stockpiled and shopped for deals but the options offered on this site have made me even MORE frugal than before.
Did I mention... I'm still grateful
Friends don't let friends trade at max value

I am a better shopper but when I first started I bought stuff just because It was a good deal, I have always watched my prices and used coupons but committed to being a serious couponer last year.. I am okay with letting a coupon expire now!! I think It is time consuming but worth it. I look at the time spent as a hobby so I don't feel guilty aobut the time spent doing this.
I don't know if this sounds weird but I have gained weight since I started!! I think it is a combination of using the computer more looking for great buys and I think I was buying more junk food too. I am now more carefull about the unhealthy things I buy just because they were a great deal It is all about balance for me, and I think I am there.Last edited by thriftygranny; Fri, Jun 15th, 2012 at 12:30 AM.

I'm more aware of prices and good deals. I used to hate going to the grocery and just threw whatever looked good into the cart.
It also gives me something to do.

It's also helped me with MATH....LOL
I use my cell phone to calculate lbs, price for individual pop cans per 18 case etc.
So, couponing has made me smarter.....or at least learn how to use a calculator
