i found 3 bags i really wanted... took one out of my cart cause i thought that was too much, but then the shipping was $22 not bad, but the tax and duty on $155 was $40. is that normal? so $155 turned into $217. excellent prices but I dont NEED them so I didnt buy them.

There are certainly pros and cons about shopping their products online.

    Cons:
    1) You're not sure how the bags would actually look on you (even though they have some modelling pics for the bags on the website).
    2) Duty and shipping fees.

    Pros:
    1) Saving of time and hassle driving to their stores which are usually not easily accessible.
    2) Saving on the gas money.
    3) Way more selections.
    4) Super fast delivery (1-2 days).
    5) The products are fresh and straight from the warehouse, nicely wrapped in tissue paper, unlike the ones in the stores that are picked over by many hands.

Yes, that's reasonable. Duty itself is 18%

18%! I thought it was 10.5%, I called the customs two months ago as I was expecting a parcel from an ebay purchase and that's what they said. Maybe it differs for provinces?

Oops, sorry. I was thinking clothing item which is 18% but a purse is different.

Tax is different for each province but duty should be the same as its set by the federal govt. Here's two helpful links regarding duty rates for various products:

thanks for the info. i REALLY love the purse, but i REALLY REALLY don't need it.. so i'll think on it for a few hours. it is leather, so $217 for both is a crazy bargain.

seriously am I trying to talk myself into this?

lol...I was having the same debate last week, but then I thought of the hassle of driving to the US, lining up at their front door and still having to claim them at the border, and finally made up my mind and hit 'submit'.

I was at their factory store a few months ago too and bought quite a few items, and since it's in OR, no tax! Last week I placed the online order without telling DH as I knew he would complain, and guess what, he came home for lunch for a short 20 minutes and the parcel was delivered right at that time!
But the online selection is certainly better. what I really liked about the products I received is that they were all in flawless condition, nicely wrapped in tissue paper straight from their warehouse in Florida, unlike the ones in store that were all picked over by so many hands.

BTW, were you talking about one of these bags? The price is very tempting...

Can a person have it shipped to a parcel pickup place in the US? Planning on heading down for a few days on vacation in less than two months. How much is shipping then?
