Fort McMurray is on fire in a huge and scary way:

^ Yup, it's terrible.
My son just came over from the shop where he works. They had a man (tool rep) come in today - here in Saskatoon , and he watched the footage of the planes dropping the red ant down right on his house in Fort Mac - so sad.
It's just awfully dry here on the prairies, and now we have temps in the high 20s. Hasn't rained, no rain in sight. There are prairie fires around lots of communities, and everyone is worried about forest fires being even worse than last year.
This is an NDP politician's response to the fire

^ I saw lots of this crap on FB yesterday, so gross.
i really feel sorry for Fort McMurray people,
we had a fire few years ago that was 30 miles away
it was dark and Streets lights were on in a ''supposed to be bright sunny summer afternoon'' and we had ashes on everything....so i could imagine how awfull and stressfull it must be for them being so close of the fires
I am so sorry to hear about the fire but hopefully nobody hurt.
Canadian Red Cross is asking for donation to help Fort McMurray people.....if you can , please, think about giving to help
How to donate for Alberta Fires appeal

You can also text REDCROSS to 30333 to make a $5 donation

a lady from insurance compagnies people are fully covered with their insurance
and CND government will double the Red Cross donations...e.g. if you give $100 the government will also give $100....
Noticed today that Shoppers Optimum has at the top of their Organization list 1-Alberta Fires Appeal.
Usually there's a name attached before the appeal. Donated my points because that is something I can do online.
Yahoo News has kept a yellow banner on the guide to helping FM residents. Feel really concerned for the people who have kennels or yards in which they are offering to house pets. If the society for humane services has evacuated their staff and closed their locations, who's going to back up (with water, food, resources) the kennels and boarding places that are open for animals if most residents are gone? Don't envy the firefighters having to do house checks for people and pets.
