Finding out on the morning show that the Iranian government admitted to a military accident and that Iranian citizens are protesting the news (third day) shows how upsetting the whole matter is. Huge losses of people and knowledge.

Last night on the CBC The National broadcast, there was a segment about Canadian crafters making wildlife wraps to help animals in care that had burns dues to the Australian wildfires.

Ontario wants immigrants to move into the province with the condition that they work outside of the Greater Toronto area in manufacturing jobs.

I noticed mention of industrial sewing machine operators-the only place I am aware of access to such machines in a possible training scenario is through a membership at The Fashion Zone run by Ryerson University. There does not seem to be an industrial sewing machine training program offered by any post-secondary school or local organization and the places that do offer sewing programs are taught on regular sewing machines.

And several years ago, a staffer for QuickStitch talked (at a job centre) about how hard it was to find anyone who can sew-most hires were new Canadians with sewing experience from their home countries.
