Today I am especially, deeply saddened by the passing of the Democratic Congresswoman from Texas, Sheila Jackson Lee. What a woman!! Sheila served for 30 years in Congress,
speaking out on any and all issues of discrimination or violence against women. Her determination as a successful member of the House of Representatives, she saw to it that legislation was passed. The list is long but among them were the Violence Against Women Act, she made Juneteenth a federal holiday and reintroduced the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act.
I read that pancreatic cancer took her life at 74 years of age but her legacy is one her family and constituents will be proud of.
This clip is the one I wish to share of her being SHEILA!

@walkonby , this month has been something else for the USA. Last week former president Trump was shot. This week president Biden got COVID, which is very dangerous for 80 year olds. And today Biden is leaving and endorsing vice president Kamala Harris.
Canadian connection: Kamala Harris went to school in Canada: elementary school, high school and 1 year at Vanier College.
you heard it here first ......Kamala Harris selects Tim Walz as her VP running mate!
I was rooting for Pete Buttigieg, oh well.

Tim Walz is speaking right now on CNN from Philly. Not much of an accent to imitate, has a bit of an " aw shucks " manner of speaking. So...Steve Martin should really play him on the new Season of SNL!!

It's all about Kamala's pick of Tim Walz for U.S. VP. On Kimmel last night Jimmy held up a photo of Tim as he looked back in HS.
I immediately thought of Gus ( Tim's teenaged son ) . Clearly they are related....ha ha
