Lol. Funny, other than in the media, folks aren't discussing the elections and possible outcomes here. I've only had the conversation with one of my Franco friends and, while we disagree, we find each others views interesting.
Latest polls indicate something like a little over 30% in support of sovereignty.
What's so terribly sad in my opinion is that we're all Quebecers.I hate when politicians feel the need to separate us based on language when we do just fine living as neighbors, friends, and loved ones without their interference.

Lol, yeah that was me too. Lived there from 1994 to 2007. Voted yes in 1995 for poops and giggles, then nearly crapped myself that night watching the returns.
(actually, the reason I voted yes then was because I'd only been in Quebec a year and didn't feel I should have a say in what Quebecers chose for themselves, yet I did have that say. I knew many others the same as me, new to Quebec, and passing through. I just figured I'd cancel one of their no votes since they shouldn't have been voting anyway. I was idealistic in my youth. I'm over that now.)

Sad that any organisation, religous or otherwise, is blighted by people who abuse children , regardless of gender.
eta especially when it seems that it has been tacitly swept under the carpet to allow the abuse to continue unchecked.
eta 2 esp when it's been repeately ged as a problem..Last edited by Darth Penguin; Tue, Sep 4th, 2012 at 11:44 PM.

Lead story on BBC international news..
Shooting mars Quebec separtists' election victory
A gunman has brought chaos to a separatist election victory rally in the Canadian province of Quebec, killing one man and wounding another.
The shooting cast a shadow over initial results indicating the Parti Quebecois was set to form a minority government after nine years in opposition.
PQ leader Pauline Marois was giving a victory speech in Montreal when shots were heard at the back of the hall.
She was rushed off the stage and a man was later arrested.
The gunman's target was unclear but the suspect, said to be in his fifties, was later heard shouting in French "The English are waking up".

Actually he did not get in the building the shooting took place outside. He nearly got in through the back door. But how the hello did he get an Ak47?

Just awful about the shooting - uh, why was he in a bathrobe, anyway?
