And Netanyahu has won re-election in Israel it seems
Too bad, and of course he said no 2 state solution to win the election next day he back tracks. He is an ugly, ugly politician.
Politicians will say anything to win. Too bad he is a right wing extremist. They will never know peace under him.
Hopefully Hillary will get in in the U.S. because if the right wing tea nuts get in they will all but ensure there is never a 2 state solution, they want their rapture in the holy land.

Armenia marks centenary of mass killings by Ottoman Turks
Ceremonies have been held in Armenia and around the world to mark the centenary of the start of mass killings of Armenians by Ottoman Turks.
Friday marks the 100th anniversary of the day the Ottoman Turkey authorities arrested several hundred Armenian intellectuals in Constantinople, today's Istanbul, most of whom were later killed.
Armenians regard this as the beginning of the Ottoman policy of mass extermination of Christian Armenians suspected of supporting Russia, the Ottoman Empire's World War One enemy.
What happened in 1915?
Hundreds of thousands of Armenians died in 1915 at the hands of the Ottoman Turks, whose empire was disintegrating.
Many of the victims were civilians deported to barren desert regions where they died of starvation and thirst. Thousands also died in massacres.
Armenia says up to 1.5 million people were killed. Turkey says the number of deaths was much smaller.
Most non-Turkish scholars of the events regard them as genocide - as do more than 20 states, including France, Germany, Canada and Russia, and various international bodies including the European Parliament.

29 years ago om 26 April 1986 in early morning hours the #Chornobyl nuclear power plant exploded

A comparatively unknown region of the Soviet Union encompassing parts of Ukraine and Belarus shot into the international spotlight April 26, 1986, when Reactor 4 at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant exploded, sending massive amounts of nuclear radiation into the environment. It was the world’s worst civil nuclear power plant accident: While only about 50 deaths can be directly attributed to the disaster, the higher cancer rates in nearby populations either already has killed or could kill thousands.
Work continues at the damaged Reactor 4, where builders are erecting the New Safe Confinement structure, which will reinforce the concrete sarcophagus initially constructed to contain the reactor. The project has run behind schedule, but is expected to be completed by 2017.

Saudi Arabia Considers Nuclear Weapons to Offset Iran
If there was ever a doubt that Stephen Harper has turned Canada into a Fascist state, here is your proof.
Ottawa cites hate crime laws for anyone that boycotts Israel. Excuse my abbreviated language for the moment. But........W.T.F? I can not oppose a country that Harper is buddies with, or boycott it if I am part of an advocacy group without being cited for "Hate Crimes?" This is even before his Police State C-51 becomes law. This really is the most dangerous Government Canada has ever seen.
^ that one is definitely a head scratcher.
Such sad news about the Chinese cruise ship that overturned in the Yangtze River due to a tornado...458 on board, 14 rescued, 18 bodies recovered...drilling through the overturned hull is being considered to hopefully find other survivors. One man's account of his survival said he had seconds to grab a life jacket and jump into the river at night, from the first rumblings in his cabin....he floated to shire near the morning....so tragic....
Whatever one thinks of their government's politics, this is such a tragedy for the families...most on board were elderly...

I just read that blow torches are being used on the ship's hull in response to "knocking noses" heard fro within the hull....

In response tp the Iran deal, Israel has started building stronger Military ties with Germany and Saudi Arabia
I know Saudi hates Iran and hates this deal, but I thought Germany had very strong economic ties with Iran. That's why Germany was the +1 in the P5+1 that negotiated this deal with Iran. (5 permanent UN security council members plus Germany, negotiated this deal with Iran).
