So as we all suspected, that P.O.S. Kim Davis did not meet the pope.
She may have been in the same room with him but they did not meet.

STOCKHOLM - Arthur McDonald, a professor emeritus at Queen's University in Kingston, Ont., and the director of the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory in northern Ontario, is a co-winner of this year's 2015 Nobel Prize for Physics.
McDonald, and Japanese scientist Takaaki Kajita, were cited for the discovery of neutrino oscillations and their contributions to experiments showing that neutrinos change identities.
"The discovery has changed our understanding of the innermost workings of matter and can prove crucial to our view of the universe," the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences said in announcing the award early Tuesday.
McDonald, 72, is a native of Sydney, N.S., who studied at Dalhousie University in Halifax in the mid-60s and later at the California Institute of Technology. He was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2006.
McDonald and Kajita, who is the director of the Institute for Cosmic Ray Research and professor at the University of Tokyo, will split about $960,000 in prize money.
Each winner will also get a diploma and a gold medal at the prize ceremony on Dec. 10.

Ukraine wins UN Security Council seat
UN General Assembly has voted on the five temporary seats on the Security Council on Thursday, October 15
Ukraine has been elected as a new, non-permanent, member of the UN Security Council for the year 2016-2017.
Ukraine's new position is likely to add to tensions with Russia, which is a permanent Security Council member and had reportedly been campaigning against Ukraine joining the council.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin, who traveled to New York to campaign for his country's election, said that Ukraine has a broader global agenda but that its tone with Russia will "definitely not be conciliatory."
"For the first time, we have an absolutely unique, unimaginable situation...that a permanent member of the UN Security Council is an aggressor in Ukraine, waging a hybrid war against Ukraine," Klimkin said.
This year's election is uncontested — Egypt, Japan, Senegal, Ukraine and Uruguay are the five candidates for five seats as non-permanent members.

@Patty Smyth ....pardon my ignorance here, but P.O.S (point of sale), as in her job issuing licenses?
The spin on that story was just damn ridiculous
@Patty Smyth ...that is what I thought
How much in the hole is Alberta now? I remember back in the early 2000s when they were sending people cheques for the surplus the province had
It's against the law to show compassion. FYI.

All the driver had to do is ask the lady to drink out of one of the bottles to prove there was nothing in it. . .
I kind of agree with the guy with the pigs, I mean THAT is his property and she has NO right to touch it or his animals. She also has no idea how the pigs are cared for she is simply seeing a sad, hot animal in a cage on its way to slaughter, so emotions kick into high gear.
Is this any different if someones kids were in the back seat of a car and some stranger second guessed them on how they cared for their kids and then took it upon themselves to just stick a bottle of water in their faces?
Emotional situation but that does not give her the right to take that kind of action.
With all due respect, this has nothing to do with compassion and everything to do with a publicity stunt. :(
I learned the hard way years ago that anyone that used the label "animal rights" cares very little about the well-being of creatures (well, other than themselves). Animal welfare is a whole other story. What opened my eyes was an animal rights group holding a protest (I came across them by accident and was watching) and several members attacked a blind man with a guide dog. Apparently, they were trying to save the poor creature from being a "slave" - except they thought the best way to do that is to throw things AT THE DOG. Cops helped the poor man, but did nothing to the cretins. :( When I contacted the organizers, I was told that this was the best way to show the world how horrible life is for a guide dog (by attacking the critter?)! Sorry, I'll stop now, suffice to say I have a hate-on for these idiots.
Sigh.
