Brent Hawkes, the pastor beloved by the left wing in canada and always brought out to give the appearance of religious approval of whatever they are doing.......has been charged with sexual assault in Nova Scotia

JMHO, but I quite like this gentleman (I've been wrong about people before, but I don't think I am). I find it odd that so many of these supposed assaults that took place decades ago are now coming to light.

Unfortunately, criminals can be quite "likeable". Look at Bill Crosby and Jian Gomeshi.

Sexual assaults or child abuse often come out much later, as it's so traumatizing to victim. . .and our legal society still has issues handling victims appropriately. Even to this day, people "blame" women when they are raped. It doesn't help that the Assailant looks perfectly normal and appears to lead a normal life.

I guess many of the "monsters" in society know how to camouflage themselves very well.

A couple of days ago, Irish tv and radio presenter Terry Wogan died. I have seen several comments hoping that "scumbags" don't do a "Jimmy Savile" on his memory.


Yup...more than one person thinks that abuse victims are "scumbags".

I'm utterly certain genuine victims are more enraged about that than anyone. And genuine victims would consider those who make false allegations to be scumbags.

Makes me think of the John Furlong abuse saga. He worked with aboriginals up north as a gym teacher and was dragged over the coals for his abuse of them. The threw basketballs hard at the kids, he called them slow and smacked them on the ass if they were lagging during runs...dh says, sounds like my 1960's gym class but Furlong is supposed to go down as an abuser, not a guy typical for his time. Not a single aboriginal agreed to testify in court, and some of his accusers didn't even attend the school he taught at, but journalists are still going after him because they have already tasted his blood.

You get that for lots of cases though..Not just sexual abuse..
Several times have I seen here people post that same sentiment regarding a murder or rape or animal abuse case... and some times before the perp is caught..

With Savile, there was an orchestrated denial by BBC over any allegations from the 1960's onward..

Just scanned the stories on the Jian Ghomeshi trial day 4 - he sounds like he had a woman just flinging herself at him who wrote him "I love your hands" after he allegedly choked and slapped her with them, who wrote vengefully to other women and shamed him in over 20 public interviews...

Yup, what he was saying was that Mr. Sajjan's answer was meaningless. A whole bunch of words that don't actually say anything and certainly didn't answer the question. A fine example of politician talk. But everything is racism nowadays dontcha know?
