On this day, 35 years ago, the Chornobyl no.4 nuclear reactor exploded

and released 400 times the amount of radiation as the bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945.

31 people died that day and tens of thousands of people living nearby were exposed to catastrophic levels of radiation with dire health consequences.


As the Soviet insiders fled the area with their families, the local citizens were told nothing for days. The world learned of the disaster only after heightened radiation was detected in Sweden.It proved to the world that the Russian rulers of Ukraine cared not for the people, but only for themselves and their empire.It was the beginning of the end of the Soviet Union. Ukrainians en masse came to the realization that only under their own democratic rule can they ever feel safe and be free of oppression.The struggle continues today ....








The April 1986 disaster at the Chernobyla nuclear power plant in Ukraine was the product of a flawed Soviet reactor design coupled with serious mistakes made by the plant operators. It was a direct consequence of Cold War isolation and the resulting lack of any safety culture.

Josh Duggar, the former reality TV star from TLC's "19 Kids and Counting," has been charged by indictment in Arkansas for receipt and possession of child ography.A release from the United States Attorney's Office of the Western District of Arkansas stated Duggar "allegedly used the internet to download child sexual abuse material." The release said that "Duggar allegedly possessed this material, some of which depicts the sexual abuse of children under the age of 12, in May 2019."

So today the CDC came out with startling news! Anyone fully vaccinated ( and 2 weeks after a person receives their 2nd dose ) they can go MASK-LESS...inside or outside.
How is this possible? I thought variants were spreading? I thought in the USA there were many people refusing to ever get vaccinated?
Who thinks this is safe?

They are caving to the juvenile.

The virus can be carried by anyone, whether vaccinated or not. The difference is that the vaccinated will not show symptoms.

Since Aug. 1, at least 151 Broward County students and employees have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the district’s coronavirus dashboard. Classes are set to start Wednesday.

The vaccination status of these 4 employees was not reported. My guess is none of them were.

And Trudeau will get what he wants. I despise him and virtually every single policy but, credit where credit is due. He stared down the opposition and has pretty much gotten every single thing he wanted thus far. Punitive gun laws, child care, carbon tax, and more. He made many of them votes of non-confidence and dared the opposition to challenge him and they were too cowardly to do anything. So, he got what he wanted.

I think that he won't get the majority he seeks. Instead, I predict a return to the same minority status. So long as Que and ON like him, there will be no change. Woe is Canada.

Yes, we have an election set for Sept.20. I imagine Elections Canada will be scrambling to find staff for the polling stations (I recall from a past (2015?) election that there's a dress code of black and white attire for poll station staff; not certain if any mandatory vaccination status will be required).

Interested in jobs during the election? You'll need a roomy car if you apply for the poll supervisor position (have to lug equipment, ballots and the various lists etc each day unless you have a locked office then at end of advance polls or election day, got to return everything to area office) plus muscles. Some polling sites might not be on the ground floor nor have a/c. Be prepared! (Disclosure-I worked for a provincial advance polling station in 2014).
