Homeschooling
I am planning to homeschool my children. My oldest is 4 and will be starting j k this year. I have tried looking for resources but somehow most homeschool moms are in the states. I am deciding on which curriculum to use, have checked the gov website, but its not much information that I could use. Any homeschool mommies out there that can give me some advice (I am in ON).
Thanks in advance!

Wow, you are brave! I'm an elementary teacher who became a SAHM, and I thought of it, but we decided to not.
You will have to check with your local school division/provincial Education dept. for them to give you the curricula outlines and regulations.
There should be a provincial organization from which you can get some guidelines - and probably a local one - do some googling.

i was homeschooled. there are a lot of home-school groups, that may be able to help you decide on what curriculum to use. I know my mom was a part of a different drum.
but theres a huge list of groups in ontario here: http://ontariohomeschool.org/Ontariogroups.shtml

Homeschooling your children is a huge undertaking. Most people decide to go this route due to religious reasons, or they have specific issues with the school system. It is certainly more popular than in the past, and Natalka linked you to some helpful sites. Remember, social interaction is also an important part of the learning process.
Are you comfortable sharing your reasons for wanting to homeschool?

Here is a link to Ontario's old and new kindergarten curriculum. http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/eng/curricu...dergarten.html
I am an Ontario elementary school teacher with several friends who home school. At this time we plan to send our own children to public school and support their learning at home. All the best in your endeavours and thank you for being a parent that supports and takes an active role in your children's learning.
