Cheapest car insurance?

So I'm in the process of getting my first drivers licence and I will need car insurance as well.. I know it all depends on age, car etc but roughly if anyone has any idea..where I can find the cheapest car insurance rates..that would be of great help, as I'm clueless about this stuff.. I'm kind of young my dad said because of that I will be paying the most.. at least $300-400 a month.. which sucks because I can't change my age..and I hate that this is a factor! it shouldn't be, how can younger people especially who are starting out afford this.
is that true about the price though? is there anything cheaper? which car insurance companies would you guys recommend I look at?
(I'm in Hamilton if that matters..)
