I'm sorry, but I've had enough. Again tonight, I was sent a pm from someone that was apparently requesting that I VOTE for them..... I didn't understand what they were asking at first, I thought they wanted to vote for me in some contest, so I told them I didn't do those types of contests and wished them a great evening.
I got back a snarky pm saying they would love to have a great night if I could just do what they wanted?????? I checked this persons profile to see what was up. They joined our community about 3 weeks ago and every thread they have made is requesting VOTES for either them, their daughter, their family and so on. Vote for my art so I can win an iPad, vote for my daughter so I can win a trip, vote for me so I can win a makeover
It really bothers me. This is a great community that helps ourselves and others with huge amounts of information. Yes once in a while someone will request votes for a contest, BUT these people are contributing members of our forums.
I really wish this type of behavior was not allowed, especially when this person has sent me 5 pm's tonight alone, getting upset at me for not voting for them. This person has done this to me a week ago too.

I agree! It's like the people you see asking for advice on complaining to a company & that's thier only post so it's obvious they think we're all just a bunch or crooks who'll teach them how to take advantage of people
I am currently looking for coupons for non parishable foods or grocery coupons good until December to help with Christmas food helpers.
If you have any to trade please PM me.

I got a vote request pm from that member earlier too and just deleted it without responding. I guess I should have forwarded it to a mod - I'll do that if I get another pm from her.

While I agree that the 2nd PM was rude (based on what you posted) and should be reported, I have seen vote solicitation happen often on here with threads asking members to vote for xxx. This was just in a PM. So how is this any different? While they may not participate in any other thread, is this a requirement in order for them to ask for votes so they might win something?

I have gotten pm's like that before and just delete them. Next time I will send it to a mod as well.

couldn't agree more. When people join just to ask for voting I'll go out of my way to not vote for them . In fact, I really dislike voting contests all together.

I belong to another board and there are occasional veteran posters who hasn't been around for a while and all of a sudden, they log on asking to vote for them. If you don't have time for us, I don't have time to vote for you.

This morning, I sent the entire pm to the mods and Boo. I am hoping that these type of issues can be contained to the contest thread, but we will see. Have a great day everyone.

The problem with this is while they might be banned permanently what stops them from creating a new account and doing it again?
Luckily I haven't received any pm's like this. I don't vote for things generally unless you are a SC member I have traded with and talked to and like, even then its rare.
I'd sugest adding these people to your ignore list, works for me, every day my list gets bigger and bigger and biggerInsert Clever Signature Here
