I hate when people join SC with a hidden agenda !!!

Actually it isn't the forum that is bothersome it is the obtuse remarks.

Who cares? Just delete.

If you join a forum, you should except spam, rude people etc. You can simply browse the site without logging in or make a fake login to post deals and don't check your PM if it bothers you that much. Is this site really worth getting upset about lol ??

Thats the part that bothers me, that they joined simply to ask for votes. I realize thats what the contest forum is all about, but to pm members who don't and never had requested a vote from them, nor do I post EVER in the contest forum is annoying to say the least. Then to be rude because they do not format their request properly and I don't understand what they want... honestly!

I care too....I don't expect to be spammed by entitled people who think we owe them our votes simply because we post on the same message board.

Totally agree. That's why the contest vote section is there - I really don't appreciate having people PM me just to ask me to vote for them. Glad I'm not the only one who's bugged by this behaviour.

I got a similar PM yesterday as well. A few months back, I had someone leave a Negative Trade Rating randomly with the line "not enough votes"... LOL.

I would not expect votes from someone I have not interacted with on SC because I would not expect votes from someone even if I have interacted him/her on SC. I don't like voting contests either, they remind me of student council in high school. I was on student council in high school. I am a nerd who partnered herself with someone who was popular to be elected. Smart Canucks is a positive place because of the positive people and Holly is one of those people. Hear hear to her rant.

I totally agree, this is not a polling site or voting site, I feel bad that this person came back and tried to guilt you. I think you should ignore this person, I noticed there is a button somewhere, HOWEVER, you shouldn't have to be put in that situation.

Thanks all for the wonderful responses. I have had several pm's. It seems this same person has done this to many others. Might I suggest that if this happens to you, that you bring it to the mods attention and forward them the pm. If they get enough pm's on people that do this, hopefully that person can get a full out ban from the site if they continue the same thing.

This has never happened to me. But I'm sure it will. I usually vote for people because what if I need votes for something someday. That's just rude though.

Send the pm to the mods so they can see if it's the same person. Ther is a button on your inbox when you are in edit mode. Just add the persons name to the block
