For me, it was a supervisor who told me I wasn't supposed to do this.

I'm actually kind of disgusted with the lot of them, I doubt a manager will help. They'll get the message I send with my wallet, when I don't give them any more of my money!

Funny, SDM have so many rules:

1 only allowed me to use 8 cuopons
    1 allowed me to use 4 coupons on 4 x 1 items
1 only allowed me to use 1 coupon on 1 item per transaction
1 won't let me use GC to buy certain item.

All in all, I have to remember which 1 I will shop, and wrost come to wrost, not all stores carry all the items/stocks, I have go to 1 that I have problem with.

If this is the Lacewood SDM, honestly I have opted to start going to the Fairview location even though it isn't 24 hrs and a few minutes farther from my house (I believe you don't have a car though so might be a bit more difficult to get to) . I always have issues with that location whereas Fairview doesnt give me any problems really - and I've had some weird transactions there with coupons etc. What I generally do is take my fiancé with me, send him to cash to get a GC with a pop or something while I continue shopping. Then we get the points for sure because they wont refuse the Optimum card with the pop and I am half done my shop. It's silly, but it stops that hassle of "I'd like to buy this GC first" and the cashier hmm'ing and ha'ing over it.

There was a promo last year that if you bought $150 GC total in two gift cards you'd get 8000 OP. so she would have received 264000 OP - close to 3 top redemptions.

Personally, I just don't have that much extra money floating around to make that work. cause if I put that on my credit card, the interest I would pay would eat away the points profit.

You weren't supposed to get points if the GC were purchased with a GC but people did. They bought the $150 worth of SDM GC then turned around and bought $150 worth of other GC so they got 16,000pts per $150. Personally my SDM would have had a cow if I had done that! I try not anger them!

The awarding of points on SDM GC is in the terms and conditions. Hard for a manager to argue with that. Unless it is written in the terms and conditions, I don't take what any cashier/manager says for granted. I also tend to buy my GC before I do anything. I honestly don't have the patiences to buy GC every single time before hand. If I have a young cashier who I know won't care, then I'll do it.

I hit the MotherLoad at the store I went to this am (it was about 12:30am by the time I left)
Put through all my non~coupon/bonus point items first

Was able to redeem 7300 of the 28000 available bonus points.

Took home $300.00 items OOP $61.49 Steeply discounted items!
    Total was 161.49 -($100 redemption) -$61.49 OOP (Savings $131.11)
    Detailed Brag and Babble:
    SDM Redemption $300+ of STUFF

Also recieved an Auto bonus of 16000 points for something the cashier rang in.
With RBC points + reg points it was 24500 points

For a Midnight Shop there were NO Tylenol @ $3.99/$9.99
and I have (MAN) 2x $5.00 for any Tylenol products.

    Interesting group of Midnight Crawlers...
Never had I seen people clear shelves, or pull peelies from stuff they were NOT buying :s

Actually you can use SDM gift cards to buy other cards, unless they've changed it in the last few months. When I had the problem with my sdm gift cards being "used' by someone other than me, they sent me replacement cards . I wasn't feeling safe with SDM cards anymore so I called head office to see if I could do that. The response was yes and I did it at the store with no problem.
