yep sold a flat iron to the lady in the mall parking lot -didnt mind going 10 minute drive and i was taking my mom that way to value village-she was 5 minutes early like i was and i thanked her -she said she has given up selling on kijiji -only buying -too many odd people for her

so I sold them.. however they offered me MUCH lower price like half of what I wanted. they they wanted me to sell them on the reason they should buy them for the price I posted. .um CUZ thats what I was asking and you agreed.. besides i had someone else willing to pay the full price.. one phone and BOOM done... and I told them that.. they hesitated.. nearly walked out my door.. then there was a discussion and voila! sold all items. yay! not sure if i want to do this again. but ya never know.

I am selling a lot of thinks on Kijiji right now and am wondering how others handle this situation.

You have someone coming to look at your item the next day. And then you get an email asking if the item is available. I average 30% no shows but 95% will purchase if they show up.
Do you inform them of the situation or ignore?
Last item I had 16 emails between setting up the appointment and the actual appointment.

It is tricky. I usually tell them I have a person coming to see the item and I will email them back either way after the appointment.

I find Kijiji is almost as bad as having a yard sale. I've got tons to post on Kijiji too plus having a yard sale next weekend. Give me strength..... Going to try Craig's List too. Just want my stuff sold too.

i sell on kiji and what i make goes to my daughters university fund.
never meet ( burned twice, no more ),some get their kicks by pretending to meet you. i give them my home address.
most never show, so i ask them for an hour they will be around.if they are seriously late, sorry, you kept me waiting and it's no longer available. sorry.as well if they do not show and email the next day, i say for them it is no longer available, even if i have not sold it,
those that do show 100% buy.some try to give you less at the door, i just say goodbye and they dip into their pocket.
plan what you think may take a longer time to sell. i leave my ad posted for no longer than 8 hours, delete ( always say to kiji, the reason for deleting the ad is that you sold it) wait and re-post worded slightly different, i keep changing my price point to try and get the sweet spot, more responses, all ads are posted as "price firm". i do not respond back to anyone offering less than my selling price. avoids time and baloney.
people will some times email with such as "c'mon that's old stuff you'll never get the price, i'll give you a (ridiculous low price), learned never to respond back to them, as it only fosters their pursuit.

We had tire kickers the other day. I'm selling my mom's wii system for her. They showed up, griped that it didn't have this thing for the remote that makes it work better, tried to get a better price and basically just wasted our time. The ad states everything that comes with it! It has a great picture showing everything that comes with it! If you wanted the extra wii remote thingy then why bother us? also, the ad states it's a firm price. It's a very low price considering it's a wii with all the things that come with a wii and a wii fit.. both only used twice. People are wanting us to give it away. HECK NO.
