Does anyone know any good alternatives to Kijiji and Craigslist?
http://toronto.kijiji.ca/
http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/
I'm located in Toronto and want to sell some of my belongings locally, but I had some bad experience with those sites in the past, so I want to try out something new. Have I missed any obvious ones?
Any recommendations are welcomed! This thread is currently associated with: N/A

Many local radio stations have a program called "swap shop." It is free and you can call into the radio station to say what you have up for sale or trade. You can also say what you are looking for. I just did this last week in order to get a rocking chair for our nursery.

I don't listen to the radio that much, so I didn't know that. I want to look into this - do you have an example of a radio station that offers this?

I second couponer2's recommendation. We have usedottawa.com here in Ottawa, and my DH has had good luck buying motorcycle parts off that site. I personally have had good experiences with kijiji, but I've heard some horror stories. Depending on what you're selling, consignment shops can be good, as can shops that buy used goods, such as Play it Again Sports (and similar stores), jewellery stores, vintage clothing stores, and the like. Good luck!

Never heard of UsedToronto.com (or its variations) before, but it seems like a great alternative. I'm going to try it out - thanks!
I actually tried going to a consignment shop nearby, but they are sometimes quite picky with the products they buy and I don't always get the prices that I want. It might be ideal for some other items though, like clothes or accessories.

In Calgary, we have USED CALGARY, a great website, also the bargain finder online is another. I'm sure that these sites are Canada wide.
We all need a little sunshine every now and then

Oh, I didn't know about this one either. Putting it into my list!
I looked around and also found http://toronto.backpage.com/ which seems pretty busy. So I'm going to post my ad on all these sites and hope to get some of the stuff off my hands. Thanks everyone!

There is also livejournal.com and there is a community called Toronto. People will post in the GTA what they are selling, its also a great community to discuss local going ons and such.

Facebook buy and sell is also a great place, if you have facebook. They usually have admins to overlook the group. I have some great experience with fb buy/sell and its great that you can see pics/ profile of people before meeting.
