This is our "Old Man" Max
This is our "Baby Girl" Shammi
How cute are they!?!??!
And, they love to cuddle and sleep with us <3
We DO make the bed in the morning... but they mess it up.
Max has been recently diagnosed with 2 "fused discs" in his back. Treatment is medication and rest. Unfortunatly, it will never be healed. The pain will come and go. Eventually, he will no longer be able to walk but the vet cant say for certain when that will be. It could be 2 weeks, 2 months, 12 months or 4 years....... He is 11. Surgery is not an option at his age. We are heartbroken, but will keep him with us for as long as he is comfortable and living his "normal" life. He is a wise dog. Patient. Loves to cuddle. His favorite snack is watermelon. He has taught us the true meaning of "unconditional love"
Shammi is a rescue dog. She spent the first 6 months of her life tied outside with 3' of rope. She was forced to sleep in her own mess. She was not given food and water regulary. She had a horrible kidney infection when we first got her. Her kidneys returned to about 92%! Happy news. She is curious, stubborn, smart and loving! She wants to please us and love us ALL the time. She loves her "pack" together and makes us smile on a daily basis. We cannot remember life before Shammi.

Poor furbabies! It's hard when they get older and start having troubles. Adorable pets though!!

I hope Max doesnt have too much pain...Its sad when there is nothing we can do for our animals. And great of you to rescue a dog that was in such horrible conditions!!
