    Hello fellow SC'ers,

I am getting married in Jamaica in April 2014, and as a frugal bride/couponer, I have already started getting things in order to ensure I have the best wedding for the least price!

My primary task right now is to get the travel bags together (called OOT bags on destination wedding sites).

I am looking for coupons/deals to get the following items as close to free as possible:

    • advil, tylenol- travel size
    • alka-seltzer, imodium or pepto – travel size
    • aloe
    • Benadryl (or equivalent)
    • cameras (underwater, disposable, ect.)
    • candle
    • drink mix, powdered
    • fan
    • first-aid kit
    • flashlights – travel size
    • flip-flops
    • frisbees
    • hand sanitizer
    • hangover kit
    • hats or visors
    • key card holder
    • key chain
    • lip balm
    • lint roller – travel size
    • luggage tag
    • maps
    • matchbook
    • mints/gum
    • nail file
    • notepad
    • pashminas
    • photo albums
    • picture frame
    • playing cards
    • puzzle book (sudoku, crossword, ect)
    • shout stick or wipes
    • snacks (local, candy, salty, etc.)
    • sunscreen
    • tissue packet
    • travel cup
    • wet wipes

If anyone could help, be it with coupons/trades or with advise on where to find these items, any assistance would be great!

    Congrats!

For assorted stuff, Oriental Trading Company has lots of things. I've ordered from them before, and they are great. They sell many things in bulk, so they are cheap. Yes, you have to pay shipping, and sometimes a little bit in duty (depending what you buy), but the good thing is you get to know those up front, so you can change your order before you put it through.

    Some examples -

    keychains

    flashlights

    visors

    tissues

    - anyway, do some searching through there for some ideas

    Also wedding stuff

Kyah, I had a destination wedding in Punta Cana last year (May) and brought most of my own decorations, made my own invites, and created OOT bags for all my friends and family so...I think I can help you out here!

Here are the bags I used from Dollarama - $2. You're still a while away so I would check next spring/summer.

Here's where I found mine or why I didn't include:

advil, tylenol- travel size - Target travel toiletries, cheaper than Walmart
    • alka-seltzer, imodium or pepto – travel size - again, Target
    • aloe - Target
    • Benadryl (or equivalent) - Target
    • cameras (underwater, disposable, ect.) - Michael's, bought a 6 pack using 50% coupons that come regularly. Take advantage of the Michael's coupons and every week, buy one more thing you may need (for example, shape punchers, ribbon, etc.)
    • candle - Dollar store and Ikea (bag of 100 tea lights)
    • drink mix, powdered - I bought Emergen-C at Target and Crystal Light from No Frills
    • fan - online (eBay)...there are tons of party supply websites, though but be careful of duty (don't use UPS or Fedex "Ground" methods)
    • first-aid kit - Too bulky, I just added some bandaids instead (bought in a box)
    • flashlights – travel size - No bulky
    • flip-flops - you can get them cheap at Old Navy but I wouldn't. people like their own footwear (more comfortable)
    • frisbees - too bulky
    • hand sanitizer - bought mini bottles in bulk at Dollarama (3 for $1)
    • hangover kit - Emergen-C and tylenol already helps with this so didn't feel need to make.
    • hats or visors - i know most of our guests would hate wearing one that they didn't pick out themselves
    • key card holder - dollar store but we didnt include one. our guests all just put these in their pockets or in our "beach bags" while swimming.
    • key chain - no need since they're only there for 1 weeks and the keys are cards
    • lip balm - bought multipack from Target (Buy3Get1Free packs for $3 i think...)
    • lint roller – travel size - too expensive and bulky
    • luggage tag - the airline had luggage tags so we all just used those
    • maps - no need as we were staying on site and resort maps available on site.
    • matchbook - no need, resort rooms had these
    • mints/gum - Costco
    • nail file - Dollarama
    • notepad - no need, bulky for travel and hotel rooms had these
    • pashminas - bought from China (i went there for a trip prior to my wedding) but you can check local Chinatown or gift stores - anything under $4 is good, imo)
    • photo albums - no need, bulky for travel
    • picture frame - same
    • playing cards - dollarstore, Target, etc.
    • puzzle book (sudoku, crossword, ect) - dollarstore had mini sized ones
    • shout stick or wipes - Target had these in boxes (I think like 10 individual packs per box)
    • snacks (local, candy, salty, etc.) - dollarstore, walmart, costco, etc.
    • sunscreen - Target travel toiletries
    • tissue packet - same but didn't bring as hotel had these for free
    • travel cup - Bubbas (we got lucky and got 32oz ones for guests and 64oz ones for ourselves. these were the single BEST PURCHASE EVER. we were able to identify ourselves as part of the group throughout the resort, the servers loved these...gave them 5 bucks tip at the beginning of the day and they filled these babies all day! the other resort guests were all tripping over themselves saying "how did i not think of this?!") We got them 50% off at Canadian Tire. They go on sale once in a while but if you have lots of guests, you better get started soon as we had to go to many locations to find all the ones we needed.
    • wet wipes - Target, dollarstore

Thanks everyone! This is super helpful! I know I am jumping the gun super early here, but the more time I have to scout out some deals, the better! Aaaand I also find SC'ers more helpful that my fellow brides on bridal websites! lol

    Awesome! Thanks for your help!
LOL The list is one I literally cut and pasted from bestdestinationwedding.com, so I definately agree with every one of your comments re: things too bulky or not needed!

^ I used that site a lot when I was planning my wedding and actually am still friends with some of the girls 2 years later....although we're no longer on the forum (but that's another story. ) but I did find that some people just went way over the top and it's not only a lot of money but a lot of things for either yourself or your guests to carry down there.
