My sister went through the same stress for a snowsuit with my niece. You need something good so the child doesn't get cold, but you don't want to pay the ridiculous prices. You know if you wait a while you'll get a good deal, but you're scared that you may not end up finding what you need if you wait too long, or that the cold weather will come early and you wont be ready.
Here are a few suggestions, hopefully one will be useful:
1) Craigslist or Kijiji for used.
2) Discount baby stores like Bo-BeBe (http://www.bo-bebe.com/)
3) Joe Fresh has good prices for kids clothes, I think a new snowsuit used to go for under $40 .... and a lot less when winter was coming to an end.
4) OK Kids has a warehouse sale usually in November, I think they carry Gusti brand snowsuits for kids, not sure of the price, but if you haven't found anything by November, you can give them a try. (here's a link to their site with a flyer from their last sale in May: http://www.okkids.com/ )
Good Luck!!!

My zellers had some that were on clearance in that size. Zellers place versaille. If you don't find anything there suitable...one of my favorite secret places to go is right outside Acadie metro. Its a place that makes clothing and they sell the defects but often its indectable defects. When they have coats they're around 20 dollars brand new. You never know what they have though and its pretty hot in the building. Its interesting to look through seasonally. You can get kids clothing at 1 dollar each. The telephone number to the place is 514-273-2544. I don't know the hours. Its cash only...free parking in the back worth a look if you are ever in the area.
