Now I'm in a foul mood :(

Dropped one of my really nice soup bowls with a red rose on it from about chest height and it completely shattered on the tile floor. Picking up pieces of porcelain mixed with ground beef up off the floor when you want to eat sucks. :angry4: I'm mad at myself for losing my grip on the bowl while taking it out of the microwave and dropping it. Tried to catch it and then tried to break the fall with my foot and missed both times so it shattered. :( Sooooo not happy about this...I do have three left and they were bought at Value Village 4 for 2.99 so not super expensive. BUT my OCD is now annoyed that I only have 3 soup bowls, and they are super pretty, made in England old looking bowls, so now that I don't have a complete "set" I'm angry at myself because it's not just like I can go to walmart and buy a replacement. :crybaby2:

I still don't feel better after this rant :(

Searching google to see if I can find the name of the pattern or something...but I guess I may just have to live with 3 and hit up thrift stores and try to find some other ones to add to my collection of mismatched antique dishes. Still bummed because I get super attached to things I know I can't easily replace, but at the same time trying to tell myself it's okay at least it wasn't the plate my grandmother gave me, and it wasn't the tea cups that used to belong to my aunt.

Usually S&S patterns have the name with the stamp in quotations

This is what the bowls look like. From my Ebay search they are from around the 60's and are actually fruit bowls...I have been using them as soup bowls LOL!

The pic was taken when I was packing to move. I took so much care making sure nothing ended up broken and not even two months later and I managed to break one :(

I was thinking they might be Fredrika but not 100% sure and the bottoms on mine are worn so if they did have a name it's long rubbed off. I'm definitely going to be hitting up thrift stores to try and find some others or even the same if by some chance I do find them.

Frederika looks like it has buds at the top... and it looks more pinkish? Is the rose on yours more red?

I know last week I was rinsing out my favourite bud vase that my grandmother gave me. It tipped over and broke on the counter. I am so bummered about it because even if I find another like it, it just won't be the same.

I seem to have a way of breaking the things I really like.

What do people actually use a blender for? Got one as a shower gift in 2004, and it's still in the box. That and an electric wok. I'm bad about using small appliances... My husband bought me a Cuisinart panini grill thingie three years ago, and I've never used it. Bought a big KitchenAid food processor three years ago, and have used it all of three times. Just bought a belgian waffle maker in the US last week, and we'll see...

I know this pattern!!! We had a few pieces when I was a kid, I seem to recall a saucer... love this pattern. I will check my local thirft stores and let you know if I see any.

i'll check at my value village and let you know if i find one. I will be going there on wed. :)

^ I'm doing the same and so is my mom at the VV where I bought them :) Hopefully one pops up and if not, I find something better!

LOL! I rarely use mine but when I do its mostly do make my protein smoothies, or potato soup.
