Within the last little while there have been changes (not for the better) to my bank & it's "policy's" I'm curious as to whom all of you bank with & if you like them ( or would recommend them & why?) Thinking a change is going to happen soon
I'm currently with BMO & they're increasing the "mthly" costs & taking away the Air Miles perks...

I have had customer service problems with every bank I have delt with... so I decided to go with one with no fees. The customer service still sucks, but at least I am not paying for it.

I've been with PCFinancial ever since they started. No minimum monthly amount required in your account and no minimum number of financial products required and basically all services are free. No monthly fee, unlimited debit transactions, free cheques, use any CIBC ATM for free, etc. I've also had a mortgage with them in the past and also use their PC Mastercard and have earned over 1.1 million points ($1,100) towards free groceries simply by using their regular services (paying my bills online, etc.). I recently refinanced my mortgage to Scotiabank and when I went to sign the papers it was the first time in over 15 years that I had actually been inside the branch of a bank!
For me, because I do everything on-line, and have for decades, I don't need to be concerned with branch hours or even customer service as I never deal with a real person. This is the best part for me as I have the autonomy to completely serve myself. One time when I did need to sign some GIC papers I just stopped at the kiosk inside Superstore and was finished within about 90 seconds.Last edited by imasham; Mon, Sep 3rd, 2012 at 12:54 PM.

I was with PC for years and when I added my husband they gave power of the account to him and I do all of the banking. It was a pain. When we were trying to close the accounts and cancel their products they would keep charging us the fees and NSF fees so we would put the money in and they would make us wait another two weeks in which time another bill was due. It was horrible. It cost us over $500 to close the damn account.
I have an account and my mortgage with RBC as well as our business account. I am not too impressed with them. They sent our credit card to collections even though we were paying it off and not using it. They didn't even notify us. We did not find out until the stupid thing was paid off. Even then we had to fight to get it removed. When we were setting up the mortgage payments for our new house the mortgage guy set our payments at twice what they should have been. I was in a bunch of car accidents and we thought we would lose our house. I went into the bank and the person said that our payments should have been $1000 less. It cut a bunch of years off of our mortgage but that is ridiculous.
We are now with Servus. I think we pay $15 a month and I am so much happier. Their online investing program is great and easy to use for those who do their own investing. When my mortgage is due and business creditline is paid off everything is going there. The $15 is worth the better service in my opinion.
