SDM Live Fabulous Specials ???

Hi everyone. Just wanted to let you know what happened. I stopped by the SDM near my subway station. Headed towards the chocolate aisle. As I expected all the chocolates were gone but then I noticed a stack of Cadbury Burnt Almond bars. Saw that they were 4 dollars for 2. THought it was odd. Picked up 4 bars, headed to the cashier, paid for the 4 bars. Looked at my bill and noticed I didn't get the 8000 bonus points. I also noticed that instead of having each bar on a seperate line, it was 4@Sale 2.00. I asked the cashier and she said the system said I wasn't eligble. OK, I didn't want to miss my bus so I left.

So I called the 1-800 number, talked to the first CSR, he said that I needed to go back to the store and settle the issue. OK, no worries. I called the number again, the CSR told me that they weren't giving any more bonus points. I asked why, she said it was a glitch in the system. Hmmmm. OK. Just wanted to confirm, called one more time, and yes, the third different CSR said that the promo is no longer active. Well, that is my experience, it's only 8000 bonus points, I managed to get my 8000 points on Saturday for the same chocolate bars so I'm not too sad. Any thoughts?

maybe it depends on your area? although, i was on the sdm website earlier and they still had cadbury bars listed as 8000 bonus points when you buy 4! also, i went to one in my area today and was able to get 84 bars for a bonus of 73000 points on a 95k redemption. the manager said another person had also done that today. he seemed impressed.

I just came back from getting 28 bars. It was still working as of an hour ago.

dont know why redstorm posted that....i called CS and they said YES the cadbury DOES qualify still. Maybe somene else can call also just to confirm.

I'm thinking it might be really good broken up and use the pieces in place of regular chocolate chips in cookies. Give it an extra bit of flavour. Think I'm going to try it with the mint ones too.

Does any cadbury caramilk qualify, or are there certain sizes? I don't buy Caramilk so I don't know if they vary in size, but I've got enough Dairy Milk bars.

I'm already sick of it and I've eaten 1 1/2 bars since Sunday.

I'm giving it away to everyone who comes to the house. I'm also taking a bunch into work next week after my VA. Not to mention sending some to my mom to pass out to people she knows and of course handing it out for Halloween.

It almost gives me a tummy ache just looking at it.

No, Caramilk is not listed, Caramilk is not a Cadbury Dairy Milk bar and shouldn't be getting the points. I suspect that is why redstorm did not get the points as they purchased Caramilk bars which are not included in the promo, yes people on the weekend were getting points for Caramilk and that may explain the 'glitch' that the CSR was referring to. A glitch that allowed Caramilk to get points on the weekend, not a glitch that the whole promo is over.

Hi. I posted to see if people are still getting the bonus. My theory about my issue is that the cashier either entered my purchase to avoid paying out the bonus. Instead of billing me 4 individual items to trigger the bonus, I was billed one time. Don't know if it's the store's fault. I'm going back tomorrow with the original bill and with my previous bill showing that the 4 chocolate bars got my 8000 points bonus. I don't work for Shoppers and I didn't mean to scare people. It just seemed odd that I didn't get the bonus and 3 CSRs gave me the runaround. I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow.

BTW it was the Cadbury Burnt Almond 100g bars. All the other kinds were gone. Just puzzling why they were still on the shelf. I bought the same bars on Saturday at a different store. I was reading all the posts here and saw some other people not receiving the bonus. One of the CSRs did see that I received the bonus on Saturday, maybe they couldn't see this transaction since it was done today.

redstorm - As per the list set forth on SDM website, you should not have received points for Cadbury Burnt Almond bars. It makes sense for the CSRs to say there was a 'glitch' which permitted you to get the points on Saturday. That doesn't mean that they can't fix the glitch, if they aren't supposed to be included, then they won't be getting reimbursement from Kraft for those points.

I wondered about Caramilk, since it wasn't listed on the website.

Will just have to see what the weekend brings. If they start limiting it to 4 I won't bother anyways. It's not worth my while to do a bunch of little transactions.

For those you are wondering what to do with the dairy milk plain bars we use a bar each time we make cereal squares. Bag of cereal, 40 marshmellows, bar of chocolate and 1/4 cup butter/marg. (make them like you do rice krispie treats)
The orange and mint ones would probably be really good too.
We use the oats and honey or similiar cereal for the bars.
