I hit a ton of yard sales last weekend. Probably the last time, they seem to fizzle out from now on

I need to get the boys to clear out some of their old toys, especially with birthdays and Christmas around the corner. They have way too much crap that they never even play with so it's time to pass them on.

Wow, I just realized that I didn't go to one yard sale this year at all! I usually get to a few, just didn't this summer, I guess....
Oh, you guys with younger kids, I really MISS all that fun time with them - crafting, playing games, doing all sort of activities - then it's SO hard when they get to that pre-teen age and either don't want to do stuff, or plans with friends take over... not that they don't want to spend time with you, but it's just different.. (oh, boo-hoo!)
No complaints about my grown man son, though - he's a keeper!

I love the idea of having the little kids, but I'm not quite there yet. Maybe three more years and then I can talk about babies

Okay, I am caught up as well. Bub, we all have those people unfortunately. Thankfully my "poison person" who always got a rise out of me was "expendable" in that they weren't family. I really have come into my own a lot over the last few years and have really learned what Nat was saying, where you just stop letting them get that rise. Made me a much calmer, less irritated person

heh.. oh bye. lol.. after a few years of my son going a wee bit overboard on halloween decorating. we both found a solution for decorating thats so easy. all we need to find are dark but lightweight curtains. i saw a pic on pinterest but do you think i can find it again. basically you hang the curtains ..picture the ole fashioned kind with the hooks .. in your eaves..bring one drape back and secure against part of your porch then put table behind curtain and place dry ice or candles /pumpkin and only have that lit up.. then he sits on the porch and 'scares' the wee ones. when he comes around the corner of the curtain with the treats. no worries i wouldn't let him scare them too much.
this way there is no worry if its cold, rainy or even *gasp* snowing.. nothing to trip over and worry about cleaning up after. just take down the curtains and thats it.Be Strong
