Good morning! Sunny day, maybe a titch of freezing rain...the kids came home safe and sound from Vegas, so thank heavens all's well in our world this morning!
I was going to head out for a couple of new tubes of paint my teacher thought I'd "enjoy" having in my palette, but not if that rain hits us. I was out alone yesterday for about an hour and boy, am I glad I ordered a wheelchair to be delivered to our hotel in a couple of weeks! I'm going to need it.
You all have a lovely day, be careful if those rains are going to hit you....take it from one who still can't walk properly almost a year after her fall...it only takes an instant of inattention to be where I am now. Stay safe!Last edited by Lynn49; Wed, Mar 25th, 2015 at 10:40 AM.

Lynn, always a good feeling when your loved ones arrive home safe and sound ( thinking about that awful flight in Germany? )
Also when I was at the specialist this a.m. the waiting room was empty! The receptionist said the calls started last night as patients one after the other were cancelling their appts. for today because they did not want to chance being out in that freezing rain....so odd that we never even got it! I was in and out of his office in a jiffy!

Yikes on the mug warmer, WOB - last week Taffy cat shut off the surge protector under the computer, duh....
Luckily we haven't gotten freezing rain - we're just at the temp where that's possible, but they had it badly south of here. It's grey out, but we're at least not due to more snow today.
I was up after 2, so I'll be heading for a nap soon. T'will be a topsy-turvy day!

Oh, Walks...yes that tragic flight...then our DD and her DH having to board 2 flights home...I prayed like the dickens for them and for the victims of that flight and their families. Quite the mystery, isn't it? Why they flew over 100km in an emergency situation when there was an airfield just 30km away that they could have tried to get to....so horrible...
We're expecting some freezing rain later today so I'm heading out early to Michaels with another 40% off coupon in hand for another little paint tube (12.99!)...love those coupons! Then wander a little 'on the hill' to HomeSense, Marshalls, Winners, etc...depends on how my walking is going...
Hope you got an A-OK from your doctor this morning!!! Take good care my Friend!..

Don't know about anyone here but does this sound like it might be a scam to you lol.
I had a missed call and they left a voice mail message. Message only says: Hi Michael (that's me) we only took over on March 20th and we see that you might have some concerns. Please call ###-###-#### and ask for chris. Doesn't say which company they are calling from or what it's really about.

I googled it but nothing came up on 800notes.com which shows people getting calls from scam #'s. The only thing that came up was that the number was in unionville,on. If it is legit what company are you with and took over what from who lol.

@cabmonk . Sometimes i get a call and when i pick up the machine on other side says that i have won a trip or flight from air miles or blah blah......and if i want to continue press 1. I press 1, the machine hangs up. Lol. These scams play with our feelings.
@Lynn49
Can i know what happened in the Germany flight you and walks are talking about? It sounds pretty horrible.
And can you tell me if michael's 40% off is valid on EVERYTHING in the store. You know that i am thinking about buying cross stitch stuff. I want to buy good stuff at a very good deal but can't decide between choosing fabricland or michael's for my purchase. Michael's is 1 hour away but since i have to practice my driving on highways to get my G license, i think we can try going to Michael's (IF AND ONLY IF i know for sure that i'll get everything at a decent price.. )
@walkonby . Specialist? For what? Everything ok?
I am thinking about making falafel tomorrow. I have never had falafels but i like chick peas so i think i'll like falafel. I am thinking about baking them instead of deep frying. And besides, it's a different thing than our regular curries, chapatis etc. so it's going to be a nice change and hopefully it'll become a regular in our house. Looking forward to making falafel tomorrow. BTW you all know that these falafels are brought to us by free blue menu chick peas!
And i need advice for something. We bought a solid wood dinning table last week. We plan to use it for ATLEAST 6 yrs, but we know that kids (6 yr old, 2 yr old) keep spilling water and other stuff. What do you recommend for saving it? I am thinking about putting plastic sheet on it, tape it and put a nice dinning table cloth on it. What do you think?

I like falafel but at home I usually just buy the box where you just add water lol. Or sometimes will buy them pre-made. I like that I can get falafel at pita pit.

amira - depends on the coupon
For this one - I had to pick your store - hope it's Nanaimo
http://canada.michaels.com/on/demand...&weekData=next
So the 40% off anything, one item.
exclusions are here (I clicked on print preview)

That's the type of coupon I'd use to buy a cross stitch kit, because they can be expensive. Brings down the price of a $30 kit to $18.
Otherwise if you are buying cloth and floss separately, use the bigger coupon for the more expensive item - like Aida, and the 20% one for other stuff.
Just a note about the table - be careful with what you cover it. We used a flannel (?) backed vinyl tablecloth on our antique wood dining table and after a time the fuzz stuck to it, and it was horrid! So I wouldn't think it would be good to put plastic right on the wood either - maybe with a cotton buffer? Hopefully someone else can help you on this.
As to the Germany flight, it's the one that was going from Spain to Germany, it crashed in France and all 150 aboard died.

Thanks a lot @Natalka on helping about Michael's coupon and how to shop there. $30 for a kit? Wow. I thought it must be $100-$300, and i don't even know what does a kit include.....
But now i know that whatever i buy, how many kits I buy, my bill is definitely going to be less than $150.
And i'll tell my husband about this cotton buffer. I'll google this "cotton buffer" because i don't know anything about it. Our previous table was wood table and we used plastic for, may be, 1 yr. It was going good but then we wanted to use actual table instead of seeing plastic all the time....so that was the end of it's beauty. Lol

By cotton buffer, I just meant having a layer of cloth on the table before putting plastic on it. However, if you have done it before, it worked for you.
A kit, for example - would do a picture, it includes the chart, cloth, and thread.
However, just looking at the Mary Maxim site, I see prices have gone up since I used to do them. I used to order from there a lot - so maybe my $30 example was on the low side, that might do a smaller pic
Here's the MM site

You'll just have to look and see what type of project you want to do.
