So I was given a bunch of entertainment book coupons for MacGavin's bread basket. After realizing that there was actually one not too far from home, I went down. I remember as a kid my mom used to go there for bread and my sister and I would get a treat. When I moved to North Vancouver I didn't realize that they had one over here. So dropped kiddo off for his 2nd full day of kindergarten and then I headed down to MacGavin's Bread Basket. For those of you who don't know, they sell various brands/types of bread...everything from buns to loaves of bread. I headed straight to the back wall for their short dated items. The racks were PACKED!! Plus if you choose 10 items from the racks you only pay $10.99, or $1.49/each. I was in heaven..I found 4 loaves of Dempsters whole wheat bread, a box of wagon wheels (treat for DH & DS), Dempster's hamburger buns, 2 packages of extra crisp english muffins and 2 loaves of Silver Hills Squirrely Bread ()...all totaled $8.52 after coupon so each item was only $0.85!!!! I am totally set for bread now, but thinking I will make monthly trips down there! 2 loaves of the Squirrely Bread alone would have been $10 at the grocery store.

So happy that you rediscovered MacGavin's bread basket it really is a treasure trove of baked bargains. There is one right by my DH's work and once he got over his initial reluctance to shopping there and saw what the regular price of baked goods is in the grocery store he is converted.See if your location has a punch/stamp card cause mine does and for every 10x$10shops you get $5 off.

Great post! I have done a lot of shopping at McGavin's BreadBasket over the years and they have smoking deals. My only problem these days is freezer space...my upright freezer is full and until we start eating our way through it there is no room for extra bread. Going to Bread Basekt sure beats running around collecting coupons and waiting for sales to trying to score cheap bread, though, doesn't it!
So many coupons....so little time!
